This Day Trading Strategy DOES NOT Work... (use this method instead!)

Let me try and save you some time by bringing to your attention a day trading strategy that does not work! The crazy thing is, despite it not being a viable long term consistency producing strategy, it is still a super common and easy trader trap to fall into. Why is this strategy so easy to fall into and why doesn't it work? That will be a talking point in this video, but the main talking point is the solution. I get it. Offering up a problem and negative aspect is really only as good as the solution you provide for it. So instead of using this common day trading strategy that does not work, let me show you a method you should be using instead. If you learn how to do this method correctly, you'll truly be putting yourself in some day trader friendly environments. Let's get to it!

One of the solution to this I found is to size down your position sometimes we miss the trade because of hesitation too and it goes in our favor right after that but when you have low risk you take the trade anyway and I found that very helpful for me to build confidence and never chase. You make excellent points and addressed many of the mistakes that I make all too frequently... thank you! I do have a question... yesterday (Sept 23) SPY took an almost $10 drop over the course of the regular trading day... all of my indicators said to purchase PUTS, so I tried, but the price kept increasing, so I tried again and the same thing happened, so I tried for a 3rd time and finally I stopped "chasing". Then I watched what was a $1 price, go over $8... so yeah, LOTS of profits lost even with 1 contract. My question is this... shouldn't I HAVE chased with all the indicators I use in my 1m, 2m, 5m and 15m charts continuing to support PUTS?

Clay, I'm curious about the way you are exiting your trade with a limit order. If you were happy with it going down to 159.50 why not have a passive buy order already placed so when it hits 159.50 it will execute? You missed out on 50 cents because you had to chase it up. Maybe you were hoping it would go lower than 159.50. Ok, then why not just use a buy market order if it does go lower. That is much faster. The spread on Boeing is small and there is plenty of liquidity especially with only 50 shares.

ClayTrader yesterday my answer to that would have been “I own a roofing business and I’m waiting until after October 20 until I get done with the big contract I’m working on and have more time to trade. But after reading your highlighted reply to my comment my answer is “ because you can’t even have a polite conversation with someone who was 100 percent going to be a future customer and answer a simple question without coming off like a douche bag” Jesus I asked a simple question. If you don’t want to answer just don’t reply. One word answer. Long or short. Piss off

Thanks, man! I did chase the price this morning when trading Pinterest and luckily got out with a small profit, but I do realize that despite the outcome I did something wrong... Thanks to you, I now know what to do when I feel that dreaded FOMO etc again :) Keep up the good work!
