Super Champ X2 15 watt tube combo, 10" speaker upgraded to Cannabis Rex 50W 10". This is a 2 channel amp. Channel 1 is a clean classic Fender tone. Channel 2 has a modelling function with 15 different amp models to choose from.
Crate Palomino (American Made), 30 watts, 12" original speaker, purchased circa 2001, all original (recently replaced all tubes)
Fender Twin Reverb '65 reissue, used, 1998. 85 Watts, 2X12 original Jenson speakers
All amps were recorded using an SM57 microphone, placed perpendicular to the amplifier grille, 2 inches from the center of the speaker cone and 1 inch from the speaker grille, recorded into Logic with no effects or processing.

IMPRESSIONS:
The Fender Twin is the cleanest and the loudest (which makes sense given it's wattage advantage). I purchased it in order to play larger venues and not sacrifice clarity. It is superior for performing when using a looper because it provides more clarity with less break up allowing layering of clean and dirty parts. The downside of course is it's weight.
The Crate is almost as loud as the Fender, although in person it lacked some of the bass response of the twin, not surprising given it's size. It breaks up much more than the Twin, and is more suitable for blues and rock playing. Of note, it is extremely loud even at low volume settings (it gets loud between 1.5 and 2, whereas the Twin gets loud between 4 and 5.
The Super Champ X2, with it's much lower wattage and 10 inch speaker, cannot compete in terms of volume. Unfortunately at lower volumes it is also lacking in tone somewhat compared to the other two, in my opinion. It has more features, such as several digital effects and 15 different amp "voices" to choose from. Surprisingly it is has more bass at lower volumes than the other two at lower volumes. I probably could have achieved a better tone with with it if I spent more time tweaking it. The sound of a recorded amp is much different than what it sounds like in person. At very loud volumes, things tend to sound more distorted. Of note, the reverb is much louder in person.
