Fading Steps:
1st step, guideline with zero (make sure it drops towards back)
2nd step, guideline with .5 (no guard lever open)
3rd step, guideline 1.5
4th step, 2.5 & 3.5 blend outwards
5th step, blend out top guideline w/ 1.5 guard open to 3 qtr
6th, step blend second guideline w/ .5 guard open to 3 qtr
7th, step continue blending second guideline w/ 1 guard open to 3 qtr
8th step, blend first guideline w zero, lever closed
9th step, open lever half way, continue blending
10th step, continue blending with lever open
11th step, do any touch up work
12th step, use trimmers to take out bottom hair
13th step, use electric shaver

A veteran barber gave me this advice “ get the kids talking and they will be distracted so you can get the hair cut done.” I usually ask them do you play sports or video games and they will talk about that through out the haircut.

Hi, I’m a cosmetologist. Have you ever used “BaByliss Pro GOLDFX Metal Lithium Clipper” it has the build in holes for the leveler. It doesn’t get a close enough 0 but it works wonders when trying to blend using the different notches. & I always have the parents give the child the phone with their favorite movie or show playing. They will sit very still. Amazing result btw, the haircut came out flawless. 🔥🔥

I cant use shavers on a lot of kids. Especially box shavers i usually use the skeletons to bald em out only and for a little bit older kids the braun tends to not hurt them.

Kids are very ticklish when you start to use the trimmers at the back of the head/neck so i tell them to count with me 1-10 and it helps. Also they like to show off that they know how to count 😂
