I worked for a pool company as a teen. I remember one lady who was a little despondent over her in-ground pool that we had just uncovered at her new (old) house. She thought it would be impossible to rescue as the water was almost black! We shocked it, vacuumed it, skimmed and filtered it and when she came home to her sparkling pool she cried! I remember another guy who thought his brand new pool was leaking so he removed the hydrostat from the main drain, replaced it with a plug and drained the water. Next morning he woke to find his $45,000 pool jacked and cracked out of the ground! He tried his best to convince my boss that it was our fault but sorry dude, we take pictures and video! At one point of the video he asked why there was water in his brand new pool, to which we explained his water table and the importance of the hydrostatic valve!! So $20,000 later we were shot gunning him a new pool that in the end cost him only $110,000! Not to worry, he was stinking rich.

Well unless he filled the pool with lake water, it is clean water. Pool water just needs to be cleaned of dirt and debris, you would never worry about living organisms in the water. They're sourced from municipal water plants not your local lake and they're chlorinated.

Exactly my thoughts. That’s yellow algae and it will be back in just a couple days. Yellow algae is just about the worst and most frustrating thing that can happen to your pool. 😩

He puts a chemical in the pool that separates the alge and it sinks to the bottom. Then he uses a hose attached to the skimmer shoot and pushes the head along the bottom sucking the alge to the filter and then he will take the filter out and clean it separately.

Yep his vacuuming to waste after a floc has been added to pool.. makes for a good clean up but doesn't always end like this..

@@sweetrosehoney1184 That is why you add chlorine and other powerful pool chemicals. That's what totally kills any pathogens. You DON'T go in UNTIL they have done their job. A well balanced pool is about the safest water there is. You just have to know what you're doing.

As an employee at a pool supply store, you made that look easy, the service pump helps a bunch, and going slow so you don't stir up the debris is the trick

A pump with a decent power. Notice the water going down? That's because it's best to dump this waste and not circulate into the pool filter system. If the PH is out of balance + not enough chlorine = that green bottom. Had the same with my above ground pool after winter. Now it's nice and clear.

Yes it looks nice and relaxing when it’s only one pool you’re cleaning but when you have 20 pools a day, it’s a different story. I was a pool technician for 25 years. It pays the bills but it gets tough during the summer Heat in Florida. How ever hats off for that pool tech. Good job 👍 well done. Ps. Don’t forget to clean the filter afterward. Lol😅

Wish our pool service included this.. lol me and my husband gave up on them. Now we’re managing perfectly fine and our pool is always sparkling clean. Don’t waste your money on pool guy that doesn’t clean. Lol we have cameras on our property and the pool cleaner company we had would literally stay no longer then 15-20 minutes. I know it takes me a good 45 minutes to clean, skim, add chemicals if needed and test our water.

You hired the wrong company unfortunately. It is worth it to have pool professionals take care of your pool so you can go on vacation for a week in summer and not come back to a swamp. Also saves trips to the store for chemicals
