CLEAN Portraits with MANUAL settings (easy)
In this video I explain how I set my camera up to shoot nice, clean portraits using manual settings. The best part is that all the settings remain the same except for one, which makes for nice easy shooting.

After I've explained the settings I then head outside in real-time with Tia, take a quick few snaps, then bring them back into Lightroom so that you can see the full process from start to finish.
I found it a huge step once `i started shooting in Manual mode compared to an auto/priority mode because you can really start to take control of the images coming out of your camera, as opposed to letting the camera guess what it thinks is best.
The shots are taken on the Sony A6500 & Sigma 56mm 1.4 lens in the example shoot however this technique will apply to any other camera system.
Hopefully it comes in useful -if it does go ahead and smash that like button! (That's what all the cool kids say isn't it?)

Hey ! For you, a6300 and a6500 have the same picture quality ? I dont know which one I should buy. I can get the a6300 with a 30mm 1.4 and 2 battery for 750$ or the a6500, with a 30mm 1.4, 50mm 1.4 and 4 battery for 1200$, I dont know which one I take, both are used and not New (sorry fo my english)

Hi, I am a Makeup & Hair Artist and Need to shoot lots of Videos Indoor for Instagram and KZfaq and sometimes going Live with Ring-Light setup and Fill Light, so which camera will be best Suitable for my profession, Cell Phone, Osmo Action, Sony A6400, Canon 80/90D or Sony A7iii with Suitable Lenses I keep on Shooting photos and Slow motion Videos for my portfolio, and in weddings most of the time, theirs low light condition if Indoor sometimes outdoors and I don't want that Noise in my Videos in low light. In hindsight, no, I don’t think it makes much difference. Although I’ve seen a few posts that suggest it does still affect the preview on the monitor

I dont know if it affects the Jpgs but i know it does afect the RAW ones :). I usually shoot in PP0. :)

Must admit, after doing a little digging myself, I'm not so sure it does affect RAW files. Although I did read an article that suggested it does affect how the previews appear on your camera. So I guess seeing as it's a relatively plain profile, it will at least give you an accurate idea of how the RAW file will look. 👍

The picture profiles don’t make bundles of difference anyway - just make sure you’re shooting in Raw 👍🏻

I was confused as well. So I started digging. Gerald Undone expIains it very well. He says that PP affect RAWs but only if you change gamma settings. Worth to watch it. Cheers

The A6500 does have eye AF - but you have to assign it to a button and then hold that button down to activate - bit of a pain but it does work

As far as I'm aware, yes. When colour grading in Premiere Pro, there's a graph that illustrates the 'skin line' which applies to all skin colours - I think the same principles apply to exposure too. If anyone on here can advise otherwise though, I'd be happy to learn more!

Must admit, this is something that I began to wonder myself until I was pointed to this video. I also believe the pp and WB settings affect the preview on the camera.
