I've lived in this apartment for 5 months and tbh I've kinda dropped the ball on cleaning a bit... a lot... okay I haven't cleaned at all. Today I decided to take the time while I'm self isolating inside to tackle the biggest messes in my shared space & hopefully this will inspire you to clean & organize your space #withme while we #stayhome!

I also hate cleaning so I've trained myself to clean as I go and also keep everything tidy and in it's place. It doesn't feel like work when I do it throughout the day. And I dedicate 1-2 hours one day a week to clean the floors and deep clean the kitchen and bathroom. I'm on a schedule now and it makes all the difference.

I know right! She hasn't cleaned even though she's been living with him for 5 months?! Isn't she in her late 20s and yet he has to teach her how to clean a stovetop? It literally takes her being stuck at home with nothing else to do to help clean, and not only that but she has to make a video out of it to actually make herself clean WTF. What is the point of doing so many DIYs and trying to decorate your place nicely just for social media but behind the scenes, you can't clean up after yourself???
@marijkem
@marijkem 4 жыл бұрын
@@TheAlyWayYT Wow I'm sorry but you don't know her...so no need to be so negative? I personally find it refreshing for a (young) adult to not completely 'have their shit together' and show that they're not as perfect as some people pretend to be on social media. She's just human.
@TheAlyWayYT
@TheAlyWayYT 4 жыл бұрын
@@marijkem Neither of us know her but even her bf commented she needed to clean more. Also, I never said she doesn't have her shit together; she literally owns a business and a home in Toronto which is not easy. Doing a little bit of cleaning every now and then is a really low bar for having your shit together though, but I understand that sometimes it gets out of hand when you are too busy e.g. with school or sometimes your mental health takes a hit. However, at least in Becky's cleaning video she took responsibility for the mess getting that way, while Kelsey is full of excuses like TeEhEe it's not my place and I don't normally work from home~~~. I don't know how long they've been dating but if my bf let me indefinitely stay at his place (hopefully she's paying rent during this time too), I would definitely do my part cleaning, and he is a tidy responsible person too who would do the same.
@PinkKissedLips

@@TheAlyWayYT Have you ever stayed somewhere and not had a place for your things that worked efficiently for you? She's doing that basically but for months on top of having a business and renovating a home. Also some people are not naturally neat and organized. Also I'm married and as old as Kelsey and still have to figure out how to scrub the pesky rental stove. So chill.
@TheAlyWayYT
@TheAlyWayYT 4 жыл бұрын
@@PinkKissedLips Yes, but at the end of the day, it's not MY place, and if someone is letting me stay there, I am thankful and clean up after myself, especially so if it's for a longer period of time. If she stayed there a month and didn't clean up as much, then fine she's getting used to things, but she's been there for almost half a year. If she didn't have a place for her things then where did she put them when she finally tidied up her stuff? I get that people have different standards for tidiness, but her bf's clearly exceeds hers and he's the one having to clean up after her all the time even though it's his place. Seems a bit inconsiderate don't you think?

My mom used to keep our shoes and coats in the "mud room" area and then we were allowed one pair of shoes/coat at the area that we often used as kids. On cleaning day (or any other day that things built up) she would call out "One pair of shoes please!" and we would run out and grab all of our shoes except one pair and put them away. Johanna Engström so you wouldn’t be annoyed if someone came to live in your house for 4/5 months and made messes then never helped clean? i don’t think anyone is being rude, it’s just common sense to be a good house guest. it’s pretty reasonable to expect someone to clean up after themselves when they’re an adult. it’s okay for people to share criticism if she’s going to share this, an obviously bad habit, online. that’s how it works. obviously this is up to her boyfriend but putting your life on the internet opens you up to criticism especially when you share these specific details. bottom line, people are allowed to say that she, as a grown adult who just bought her own house and is sharing a space with another adult, should help put around the house and that they think it’s rude if she doesn’t. it’s great that she’s coming to acknowledge that though. i’m sorry but if she had her feelings hurt over these few comments then she must not experience to much hardship bc it’s really understandable and not that deep.

bobby pin tip. The flexible plastic refrigerator magnets make a great holder . I have old magnetic calendars in the bottom of a dish or tray. I just aim at the dish with a bobby pin and it sticks to the magnet.

I used to be such a messy person, but something happened in my brain a few years ago and now I literally cannot handle clutter and so every day when I get up I walk through my apartment and straighten all the pillows, push in all the chairs, dust the crumbs from the counter, etc. Also having a dog that likes to steal things from the coffee table helps keep me on top of things lol!

I had the exact same problem when I had all my recycling in a bin, but ever since I put it into reusable Ikea bags it's just easier to take out with you when you're going to work or it's easier to pick up in general.

You could totally put the bags inside the other, I always out my carry on inside a bigger bag and that inside another 😂 that saves a lot of space, you could also out your less used coats and shoes on that room and leave the others ones on the hallway. Love this video btw ☺️
