Cleaning a DIRTY Halo 4 Xbox 360

Күн бұрынIn this video I cleaned my Fiance's Halo 4 Xbox 360. This was a really fun project and it was so exciting to see how well it cleaned up. This is a really good looking console and looks even better now that it has gotten its first cleaning since it was released almost 11 years ago

I forgot to address in the video that I actually put new thermal paste on too! The original was crusty and kinda dried up so I got off as much as I could and repasted. It’s good to do this every 10 or so years just to help with temperatures!

I do not believe they are the same one my wife’s sister has this console now. That’s funny that they have the same crack in the same place though 😆

Yo i know this vid is pretty old but do u know a way to open the face plate on that exact halo xbox cant find how to

It’s all good! So in my experience I can’t ever get the faceplate off without taking apart the rest of the shell first. Then from there you’ll be able to get the faceplate off. You’ll have to be careful though because there is a flex cable connecting the faceplate to the motherboard. Make sure you don’t full that cable out too forcefully or it will break. I did hear that. It’s rather unfortunate to hear it when game companies do so. I may have to check into modding my 360 for the occasion 😂

Omg I have this Xbox 360 as well and has never been cleaned I might try to take a crack at it or hold off and hire someone to do it for me

Yeah it’s good to clean them about every 10 years or so I’ve heard though some definitely end up needing it sooner than that! It’s definitely worth it

No I don’t I’ve only ever owned the slim model 360s thankfully but I’ve considered buying a red ring console and seeing if I can repair it

Would it happen to be the oven method? I know a guy that stuck the motherboard of one in the oven and it fixed it 😂

@@E.B._Tech the way I did it was totally different haven't seen someone trying it (eject out the Hard disk & HDMI from the console let it run on power cable only switch on will start up then it will increase the speed then left it for 30secs then input the HDMI cable back it's all fine ready to go from my point of is overheated & fan slows down this xbox was not used for over 5 years was packed then was switched on had a red light

Wow that’s pretty interesting. If I end up buying a red ring console I’ll have to try this. Even if it’s just a temporary fix it’s better than nothing
