Great Video Derek I have my first strip and clean of this Worcester model in a couple days, the coca cola trick as you said didn't do much I've heard from other engineers bicarbonate soda does a great job I will try on the baffles and see how it goes 👍

The cleaning with that brush is awkward. I've done it twice. I was surprised that this expert wasn't that sure if he finished or not cleaning with that brush. I thought he would know exactly how it is supposed to be done and I could learn from him. Anyway I am grateful for this video. Thank you.

This highlights one of the reasons I don’t particularly like Worcester. Need a special tool to get the baffles ( which is just a hook) . You need special keys to fill the older ones. You need access from the top, so if it’s in a cupboard ……. . Expansion vessels behind All the components. Everything is just overly complicated. Nice video though 😀

Enjoying your new videos, got to renew my exams in a few months, so will be watching more to get my brain back into remembering regs and so on. I really struggle after changing the rubber and probes, getting the fan Assembly to push down and turn, there must be a trick to it, as i took ages on my last one, any tips would be a great help. Also great tip on the 15mm pipe, gonna upgrade it by using a cut off of push fit plastic to help if a slight bend is needed. keep up the top work, cheers

Great in depth video thank you, i like the 15mm tube trick..... Im having that one as my own 😜👍 Keep up the good work, stay safe!

Hello Big fan of your videos as I have had to watch it a bit over the past few days. Can you think of a scenario where there will be fluid in the Gas valve and fan for these boilers. I moved to a new place with this boiler in it. After an initial diagnosis of a broken fan, the gas safe engineer found fluid in both the gas valve and fan when replacing the fan. I'm very baffled by this. any ideas. I'm trying to access the situation to avoid throwing parts at it

see the green part at the top of the heat exchanger, its mounted on the front. should that read 0 ohms normally? mine appears to jump about in the 100s of ohms range. System runs hot and cold after being used for 10 minutes. and the gas goes out with a puff noise.

A suggestion for the cleaning of the baffles, instead of using tubs - get some empty 2L coke bottles and cut the top bit off so thee baffles fit in and can be filled completely covering them with your chosen fluid be it Coke or white vinegar. How clean do the baffles need to be? apart from the fluid can\should you use a brush on them? Also do we have to play crappy music when using a vacuum? lol

Aluminium oxide particles - heat exchanger disintegrating...How about stainless steel heat exchangers, some other brands use them?
@rayc1503
@rayc1503 3 жыл бұрын
The ribbed heat cells are due to a lack of servicing and poor system water quality. Due to baked up and sluged waterways through the cell. I think the heat can't dissipate downwards below the baffles and causes positive pressure in the top part of the hex. It's why servicing's essential on these kebab type heat cells. Worcester should buckle up and change their design. They do offer a 10 year warranty on these flawed cells. I've managed to get them to change it once for a customer. Those burner door gaskets are a poor design altogether. It's a pain to clean the hex especially when the flue systems covering the casing window plate. I find white white vinegar works well to help free up the baffles. Great tutorial Derek, why is it the bearing plates start to stick on these? These 1st time I removed one I almost installed it the wrong way. Head scratching and looking through the Mi's I managed to figure which way it was supposed to go. That day common sense went out the window 😏.
