Those look great. The copper is my favorite leather. I'm glad you didn't use any oil on them!

Thanks. I don’t want to use oil on these. Bick 4 worked out well

I just used the Bick 4 on my 1907 Rough and Tough Leather. It did Darken Some but. Lightened Up after Wearing them. My Boots were Dry and Soaked up the Bick 4. Great Video. Thanks for Posting.

Thank you for watching. Yes the Bick 4 darkens a little, but not to the point where it’s not reversible

Thanks for the conditioning videos. I too, have the 8085's and have not conditioned in the first 6 months of wear. I'm anxious to see yours after the conditioner has been absorbed by the leather.

Thanks. I will try to make a video of them tomorrow. I think the leather looks nicer after I applied the conditioner.

Been wearing mine for 3 days now and their lightening up alot behind the toe box, going to give it a month and try the leather cream, you did a nice job.

This leather will change a whole lot with wear, so if you like that patina you should wait longer before you condition them. Use leather cream, not oil that would ruin them completely

Is it true mink oil damage the leather,I saw a lot of people commenting about the disadvantage of mink oil,and why red wing still selling it.i plan to buy my first iron ranger next week.should I avoid the mink oil and just use the leather cream?

@@StarxPlayz7 if you have a type of leather that would darken a whole lot with oils I would use leather cream to keep them as close to the original color. Many people have darkened their boots with mink oil or other oils and the boots never got their original color back

@@StarxPlayz7I've noticed that the mink oil will make the copper leather darken alot and look like the amber harness leather. rose anvil has a video putting 100 layers of leather cream on either a moc toe boot or an 8085 copper leather and it doesn't get darker it gets reder and shinier like an oxblood leather. i'm going to wait a few months to do the first condition and just buff them with the brush. break in is going good no more blisters =]

I have just bought some 8085s and waiting for them to be delivered, also ordered some bick 4. I used to have some blacksmiths in CRT and used Renapur on them. That completely darkened them without any going back and I didn't like that, I wont make the same mistake again!

A sponge is good yet a horsehair dauber works BEST for applying conditioner.
@qltyboots Жыл бұрын
I tried both.
@stevenroche9874 Жыл бұрын
@@qltyboots Did you try a dauber or a buffing brush ? A dauber is definitely superior to a sponge. You can work quickly and really get the welt area conditioned.
