Cleaning brass with a sonic cleaner

This is how I clean my brass, its cheap and it works.

I saw one of these at harbor freight and was tempted. I've been a tumbler for the last 15 years, a buddy of mine got the Lyman one and I was impressed with the results.

I tell people if u shoot ALOT get a tumbler, me Im in between lol but I like the sonic cleaner.

Ever try pushing out the primers before the cleaning? Wonder if there is a difference

You never explained what is in the bowls, only the cleaner

I use distilled water and dawn with Lemi shine works so very well. Cheap and works is the name of the game Thanks for sharing your video

Really should use the basket. Items laying on the bottom can damage the transducer that produces the sonic waves.

Danny Scobee been cleaning this way for almost 2 years using the same cleaner no issues so far

good stuff..... just a thought though. One day after we got done shooting i forgot to remove 2 of my brass casings from my .40 from my pockets in my pants. i found them after they fell out of my pockets in the dryer and i was actually amazed by how clean the 2 casings were. i dunno if id recomend cleaning bulk brass in your washer machine though lol. might put alot of lead on your futer loads of laundry.

what you could do is wash ALL your brass at once then do a empty cycle. You can toss the brass in the over or into a pillow case and into the dryer.

yea i might try it. espessially since i might buy a new washer machine. that way i can use my old one if it works well.

I know this is pretty old now, but did I see you pick up a Maxxtech case? I would weed those out before loading.

My apologies, but I think I missed what your stop bath was. I would guess something with a pH > 7, but not sure what you use. Thanks for any info. Jim

Jim Jr44 Oh it's just water. need to rinse it twice, I still clean my brass this way, it won't be polished but it will get rid of carbon build up
