I had water dripping from the side of my facet and tried the drain-line cleaning as described, but still had an issue. I called the company who confirmed that the cause of the overflow backup dripping was likely a dirty brine line to the drain. They said you may need to clean farther up than 6"-8". I came up with using a small bore rifle cleaning rod with a cotton tip. It went all the way up the line cleaning all the sides well! The system works perfectly now!

I have the 3 stage system from pureblue, the leak i have is the blue water line under the faucet. I’m assuming poor manufacturing QC since i never touch it. My white drain line is cleaned once a month too.

After disconnecting, I grabbed my hose about 12 inches up from the end and whipped it for about a minute while all the sludge flung out. A bit messy, but it worked perfectly.

Did this two years ago. Always had my RO faucet leak from the air gap.. Ruined the front of my cabinetry. Original homeowner never trimmed the white line and I had no idea it was GRAVITY FED and needed to go in as straight and down and possible.. Save yourself the trouble!

Thank you for this video!! I just fixed my faucet that was leaking at the top!! Luckily for me I had a hair weasel thing from home depot and used that instead of the hanger and it went up a good 10-12 inches. all kinds of gunk came out. YUK !!

I went back and forth with Pure Blue's tech support. Locating the drain near the garbage disposal / dishwasher connect introduces growth in the tube. They say the instructions "page 4, step 2, the third bullet down does state to locate your drilling position above the drain tap, or on the horizontal pipe if you have a double sink" -- but my instructions and the ones on the web do not say this. They sent an extension tube and new saddle but no way to join the tube (have to get that yourself). One thing I did -- not their recommendation -- is use a hypodermic to inject some bleach solution in the air vent hole at the base of the faucet, while it we running. Seemed to work well.

I've had mine about a year and have had this problem. What I have done is used compressor air into the leaking hole and it's usually worked. When it didn't work this time I disconnected the white tube at the drain saddle and blew it out again. Felt strong air flow from up above. Then I made sure the saddle was aligned with the hole and it is. Blew that out too and when I hooked it back up- still leaking. Removed the red line at stage 3 to see if there was a clog- nothing. Even took the blue tube off the end of the unit and blew air through the open spigot. Hooked it all back up and STILL leaking? It's worked pretty well for the past year but I'm going out of my mind. Please help before I tear this whole thing out. I've owned this and had watts for 7 years beforehand and always felt confident I knew how to troubleshoot this issue

the video is useful. turn on the water and clean the drain tube before put it back.

It'd be easier if you could remove the tube to clean; seems impossible without breaking it.

I have the same problem, the air gaps starts draining water

I cannot pull off the tube the way it is shown here. Is there a trick to it? Do I need to remove the black joint connected to the tube?

I used air blower to clean it.

I had zero success with this, going so far as to blow it out from the red end, lots of stuff came out and yet, it still leaked. Ended bypassing it entirely with a 1 way check valve from the red tube to a new drain adapter.

That doesn't really clean it - it just shoves stuff around to make more of a hole. How do you *get rid* of the gunk in the entire tube?

The drain pipe in my sink was clogged and water backed up all the way back into the sink. I'm worried the dirty water had contaminated my RO system since the brine line is attached to the clogged drain pipe. Can water be pushed back in the opposite direction of the brine line?

I tried this and it is still leaking.

Zero advice or support for problems with the stage 3 system.
