Hi Kim - high school teacher here! I'm speaking on behalf the majority, I'm sure, when I say that we appreciate every gift from our students and their families. Homemade gifts and treats are so wonderful because oftentimes we're marking and prepping at home so much that we don't have the extra time to bake for ourselves and our families. And it's not like gifts are a part of our work contracts anyway LOL so receiving any sort of recognition from parents is such a treat! That teacher was probably disgruntled and old HAHA! If it feels more meaningful (and I'm sure a heck of a lot cheaper) to bake cookies than to give gift cards, don't let that comment hinder you :) Cheers from Canada

When my kids were young and having parties, I’d make up the ‘going home’ bags but I’d always keep some whistles handy for the kids who had misbehaved or were disrespectful and slip a whistle in their bag to drive their parents nuts! It works!

When I started doing things that made the kids happy I became happier and then I got on them if they weren’t making me happy. & surprisingly they are communicating with me really well and they know how to help me be happy 😃

I loved the voice over! I enjoy more talking over music. No summer plans yet. My daughter is having a major reconstruction surgery and it has a 2 week hospital stay so that’s our plan. Praying it’s successful and she has no complications.

Kim! I totally appreciate the chaos. It gives me hope that when I see you clean chaos and then it's tidy, that my chaos can also look tidy, it just takes time. So many show the after shots or not as messy shots, that it feels unattainable. Your cleaning videos are my fav.

Hi Kim! Thank you so much for sharing your day of cleaning with us. Definitely gave me motivation and reminded me that I am not alone in my messy house and messy life. I think you’re right, messy house equals happy kids. It’s lived in. And it’s just the season of life we are currently in. In a blink of an eye our babies will be grown and we’ll miss as them being small, sticky and sweaty. Lol! All mommas just need to find what works best for them.

I always feel like there is no better compliment after you have been cleaning all day and someone comes over and tells you how nice and clean your house looks! I so want one of the cross waves. I don't have a roomy house but I still think it would help me get so much more done. I mostly have carpeting and wish I didn't, but the floors get so cold here in the winter. I love watching you clean and talk about all your family. Getting to the beach sounds wonderful too. I agree Kim …a lived in home shows that your kids are being kids.. playing, creating, thus happy! I love seeing this! It beats them on electronics etc! I used to always let my little play all day. After putting my daughter to sleep I tidied up. Just think of all the skills you are allowing them to develop! Love it! And love you… your honesty is refreshing!!💗

Kim, don't do the time share....trust me....it's not worth it!!!! You're smarter to just pay yourself the money into an account and go on vacation when you want to. Those Time Shares are a PAIN IN THE BUTT!!!!!!! You did a great job cleaning! Your house looked fantastic!!!

Funny we’ve been going to a time share every year that Alex’s grandparents own- the one we’re looking at is in the same building. We spent nearly 2k for a two day getaway for just Alex and I. The time share would save us so much money and we get a whole week for the family.

Yeah it’s impossible to get rid of them when you want to be done. Maintenance fees start off fairly reasonable (I’m assuming) then go up up up. From what my mom said (who owns two slots in a timeshare) it follows the estate after death as well- which is ridiculous.

I went back to teaching this year as an elementary school media specialist/technology teacher - I had no expectations of getting any gifts around the holidays or for teacher appreciation week but found it so sweet when the kids actually thought of me. Yes there were things that I couldn't eat or whatever due to my food allergy, but it was so nice of the parents/students to say "Hey, we have a new media specialist, let's get her something too." I also have to add that my family was very happy with all the gifts I couldn't eat and they could, so nothing went to waste lol

Yessss we are not alone!! Lol I hear people with clean houses answer the question all the time “how do you keep your house clean” the answer is… they’re always cleaning. Ten minutes here ten minutes there but it’s all day long lol for me when I let my house go for a couple of days it is definitely noticeable!

I relate on the scent of cleaning products. I loved cleaning with lavender scented stuff, but recently bought Rose scent and it’s incredible!!! I’ve been using the multi surface cleaner literally everywhere. Even on the floors. Smells so good! I stocked up because it’s a limited edition scent.

Lol, I get such an immense feeling of relief when things are clean. As a first time mom and generally clean person, embracing the mess has definitely been a learning experience. Just glad that we've got a robotic vacuum and dog that will clean up after babe!

I think your plant and lottery ticket gifts for the teachers are great ideas. Having been a teacher there was never a gift that disappointed me. I was just thrilled to receive a gift.

Hi Kim, Only wish I could be like you and let chaos and messes go…..I tried but it just got my anxiety worse. I guess as kids if my siblings n I played w toys, dropped clothes on floors etc, we knew to pick up because we didn’t have much. It’s a carry all from the best childhood ever. I’m a retired teacher. It’s tough to eat something from an unfamiliar kitchen. Much appreciated, but not always eaten. Gift cards are best. Homemade cards from students were my favorite!
