Cleaning tips and maintenance for your drums

Everybody at the beginning needs a few tips and ways to do things and I found this to be the best method that works for me and should help you guys out to

Another way to clean the chrome is to use #0000 steel wool and a little bit of Meguiar's cleaning wax. Just get some of the wax on the steel wool pad and wipe the dirty surface until it feels clean. Let it set up until the wax sets and then buff it out with a microfiber cloth. It put a nice shine on the chrome and it protects it. Meguiar's is an automotive wax so it leaves a layer of protection over the chrome. Just come back every now and them and polish it up. Don't use power tools when you do this! They generate heat that can do damage to the material. Easy does it.

Thanks for sharing that goo gone is a great idea never thought of it my skins look terrible from taping carpet squares to them. 👍🏻

Some great ideas, thanks. The only thing I'd add is about once a year, take the heads off and lubricate the tension rod threads with a touch of vaseline.

That’s awesome!! I’ve used awesome cleaner on my drums for years and no issues at all just great results! Thanks for the tips will try the pledge next!

@@MadeForWar423 no I do not. I just make sure the rag is wet and really ring it out and from there I spray it directly on the drums and hardware.

Pretty simple! I havent played my drums which is at church since the beginning of quarantine so its time to get cleanin'. Oh man I miss my baby girl Sasha XD

That’s the same way I had to clean mind too.i love how that drum is clean.is the dwd 40 I use.but I’m telling you it look just as how I did bought it;

I’ve been using Lemon Fresh Pledge on my drums since 1974 !!!! My ONLY suggestion would be to use these disposable dusters INSTEAD of brush. Brush makes me nervous especially on lacquer kit. Btw, your kit is BEAUTIFUL :).

BE CAREFUL with LEMON PLEDGE! I always used different types of Pledge spray on my drum kits over the years with no problems. However, I bought a new Ludwig kit with a painted lacquor sparkle surface instead of a wrap and it dissolved the paint to a dull finish! This a disaster that I regretted immediately. I should have used regular Pledge instead of Lemon Pledge. Lemon Pledge is so strong that it does a wonderful job polishing my cymbals. I follow up with Meguiar's spray micro wax and I have had no problems with my cymbals of all ages.

Use #0000 steel wool on the chrome. Spray the wool lightly with WD-40.

For cleaning light dust and grime from cymbals use use apple cider vinegar. If the cymbal is really dirty and heavily oxidized, I use bar keepers friend. I love both. I use them with all of my cymbals.
