I used toothpaste and it worked amazingly. There was black rust on 2 silver charms I used paste and the black marks vanished ...thanks a lot ..

The toothpaste works without a doubt! I had a silver ring that I let gather grime and muk throughout two+ years I didn't touch it and I wanted to gift it, so I brushed it with toothpaste 3 times, each time giving it an intense brushing, and after each one I would brush it under hot water. By the end of the third time, this ring went from being brown black, to a glaring polish. I'm still shocked!

I've used Colgate baking soda an peroxide toothpaste and a toothbrush to clean all my jewelry for years and it works great! I've even used it on rings with beautiful gemstones and it shined them up like a new penny. The only thing I would be concerned about would be to not use it on turquoise. Excellent video..... NEVER use any citrus based cleaners, baking soda or toothpaste on good silver, yes it will get rid of tarnish but they are all much too abrasive and you will end up with a dull sanded look. I ruined a good pair of earings using toothpaste. Better to use aloe free hand sanitiser, citrus free mild dishwash or mild window cleaner. If none of these work then step up to an eco friendly silver polish. Most other polish options and DIY methods are much too harsh.. you might as well be using sandpaper!
