I use the 10% gel once a day as a mask (i leave it on for ~3 hours) & I always saw results immediately, like literally 1-3 days in. I wouldn't even say that one of the bad things is that the acne comes back when you stop using it, because that's how it is with every topical skincare product.

I had the same mistake of choosing 10%. It did not heal my acne so I stopped using benzac and still hesistant to use it even lower percentage and shift to salicylic acid.

I’ve been using the 10% for over 10 years every time I get spots and it works perfectly! 2.5% wont do a thing for me. It’s not marketing. We all have different skin reaction.

You mentioned about how BP is not getting to the route cause of the acne, and that you had to fully detox your body to control your acne - how did you go about doing this, was it diet related? Think mine is a lot more than superficial but don't know where or how to start a detox!

The first two negatives are just about not being informed enough before and while using it. The 10% strenght is not a "marketing thing", some people just need this strength and every derm will tell you to use the strength that's as weak as possible and go up from there if it isn't working for you. Also the part about sun protection: it literally tells you that in the explanatory sheet that comes with the packaging. You have to use sunscreen consistently when using BPO.

my doctor prescribred me 10% for scalp acne is this safe also should i put sunscreen first on my skin before i apply it and so how many minutes before i apply BP after sunscreen?

@@LawAbidingSociopath69 apply it for 15-20mins then wash it off. Short contact therapy is the best to introduce bp to your skin and avoid irritation. Let your skin dry for 2 mins and apply moisturizer. Let that sink in for 1-2mins and apply sunscreen before you leave the house. Reapply sunscreen if you are still outside every couple hours.

hey I just got benzoyl peroxide and I just applied it to my spot after washing my face. Do I use moisturizer on top of the acne cream? It's left a white mark from the cream on the part where I applied it.

Benzoyl peroxide is the only thing that helps me. I just moisturize first and let it dry, then I put on my BP and it works just as good without drying my skin out ☺️ CosRx pimple patches are great too for the big guys.

Yeah, my skin felt extremely dry and itchy when i first tried it on my entire face (as prescribed by the dermatologist), but my skin got used to it after a week. It does not have any drying effects on me now. As for the skin sensitivity, i always use sun cream (again, as prescribed)

@@uv8010 yup, i still use it on my entire face to this day. I only apply a very thin layer. Its like a maintenance thing for my acne now. Hmm, it made my skin dry and itch, but not to the point where it felt like it was burning. And then after a while, my skin got used to it. I use the gel variant, btw (Benzac 5%) Be sure to use a small amount and apply a thin layer only. You also might want to consult your dermatologist regarding this if you feel like its too much for your skin. My brother uses benzoyl peroxide too, but the dermatologist prescribed him a cream version because his skin is really sensitive. It does not sting or make you itch. Your derm might give you a similar variant or maybe he'll prescribe you something that has a lower concentration.

Luv the video! 2 years ago I have severe acne on my forehead and lots of hyperpigmentationa on my cheeks, the dermatologist recommends this same brand benzoyl peroxide but mine is 10% cuz is very severe plus I’d effectively fast that the acne reduce after the next day! Really recommend acne users to use this brand!

I use either La Roche Posay anti acne serum or mandelic acid from Almond Clear skin. I also nourish my skin with lots of ceramides and probiotic serums to restore my skin barrier xx

I would suggest use it 1x a day first for 2 weeks if you do not see any bad reaction try using it 2x a day. Leave it in and let it dry after that put mosturizer

My neck has been itching like crazy the past 2 days 😅 Doc told me to apply twice daily but my face was almost swollen from it so now I’m trying to almost spot treat it, leaving it only an hour or so then cleaning. My face feels better but my neck is still killer itchy! Hoping it passes soon!!!

Hi FYI it will not clear blackheads it will prevent them and improve them slightly though it is exfoliating the skin but it works differently than salicylic acid

@@DinLokaleStalker Forgot about this comment - I went through two tubes fairly quickly - But I remember after writing this comment that it fluctuates up and down in terms of spots…(One day it looks really clear, another day it’s like normal again) I think you have to apply it TWICE a day morning and night in order to really see the benefits ALSO, please wash your hands properly after touching the cream coz I’ve literally bleach stained 4 towels and the neck of a couple polo T-shorts are bleached

Firstly , this medication is too intense . I didn't continue for too long not more than 15 days. Due to my mental health it was bit depressive . It did help dry out excessive oil and some Breakouts. I'd go for skin chemical pelling still not fully cured but my skin is healthy , inflammation and redness is still an issue for me. It takes time , 1-3 months of course. Acne comes and goes it's distressing but it's a part of the process

I use to use prescription Duac 5% BP. But now i use 20% Azelaic acid but still not as effective on my pustules as Duac. I have purchased acnecide gel to use in the mornings & my 20% Azelaic acid at night. Dr Sam Bunting recommends using BP in the mornings & azelaic acid in the PM to really control acne & pigmentation. Personally I at night I cleanse my face and then moisturise and wait like 10 minutes then apply benzoyl peroxide then in the morning I cleanse tone then BOOM I use retinol serum wait a min then apply moisturiser( and then sunscreen if your going out ) just make sure to keep moisturise consistently when your not using it

It's easier to use benzoyl peroxide 10% facewash, you keep the creamwash on 3-5minutes like a facemask and then rinse off, so you can go on with normal skincare . Works the same and I dont have any flaking. Its normal when washing off product your face turns red, but it's always going away in 1 hour then it's less red and more clear than before. I use Kivoria wash, the other popular is PanOxyl. With gels and creams is smart to use 2,5% because you leave it on for many hours. You can always mix it with rich mousturizer or even put moisturizer on first on a damp skin so it greates protective shield and penetrates moisture deeper and it still works. Always use atleast spf 30-50.

Its the normal skin care order. If you use benzoyl peroxide wash 10%( its usually cream form and you put on after face cleansing for 3-5minutes). If you use leave on gel or cream 2,5%-5% at night after facewash and then you moisturize or you can moisturize before benzoyl peroxide if your skin is too sensitive. Or even mix small amout into moisturizer. Then you can use niacinamide in the morning, I don't suggest using them together.

@@LawAbidingSociopath69 never tried that before, I know that BP bleaches fabric and hair, so be careful. Maybe salicylic acid 2% or glycolic acid is better for scalp.

Been using benzac since yr 7 I had really bad breakouts due to the fact i have really oily skin when I first started using it I got the 5% and it worked wonders for me mind you I was taking acne pills for 1 month then stopped bc I was now not getting bad breakouts randomly only a week before my periods came so I stopped using benzac,my skin at the start was very oily I'm now 19 and my skin is comination and depends entirely on the weather now and is very sensitive and I assume it was from using benzac my whole highschool life I use benzac every night to help with my textured skin even if I'm not breaking out or having any active acne I still apply benzac, every morning I have to apply sunscreen and i'm not complaining but my skin is so smooth now I use la roache posay face moisturiser and sunscreen I also use 10% benzac instead of 5%and it doesn't dry my skin or irritate I don't have any bumps and at night I use night cream and apply vaseline to get rid of acne scars/pigmentation I use bha pha miracle soap made by somebymi

@@ishitachakraborty4448 Yeh but I have been using it since high school and my skin doesn't show any signs of aging..I also always wear sunscreen and night cream on top of moisturiser,So I think if you always use sunscreen and night cream on top of products inclouding retinol then it should help with the aging skin

@@user-su6pv2cq6b yes it worked for me, proactiv + is also really good, it didn't work for me the time I posted the comment but its because the acne I was having was actually an allergic Reaction to dairy products. Since I've stopped dairy products I have no need for benzl poroxide anymore. If you are sure that your acne is ACNE then yes this will 100% work for you as it did for me in the past. But proactiv is very good

I just start using BP 3 days ago - my acne getting worse, is it normal? - should I wipe off the cream after 15-30’ on my face and rinse the area ? Or just leave it overnight? - should I apply moisturizer over BP cream?

- having a breakout after starting off with BP is normal. It should get better in about 1-2 weeks when your skin gets used to it. - I usually just leave it on for a few minutes and then I wash it off. Leaving it on overnight might irritate your skin too much. - I recommend applying the moisturizer a few minutes after rinsing off the BP, since adding any more topical treatments on top of the BP might make the acne worse -If it seems like your acne isn’t improving within a month (BP will take its sweet time to get rid of acne), you should probably try to increase the intensity of the BP (like get a product that has 5-10% BP in it). If it seems like your skin gets too irritated (dry & itchy skin, redness), you should either reduce the intensity of the BP (2.5-5% BP), or you can use the BO you are currently using less often (like using it every other day).

Same here, I can't find the 2.5% at any drug store. So I'm using the 5% it burns abit but I will keep at it for a week and see if the acne reduce.

Only use it on active pimples. Don’t apply it everywhere :) I use it and it works. You should try Phisophex! It’s a tall white cleanser with a green label and it cureeeeed me. In my opinion it’s better then the benzac cleanser. Pair the benzac acne gel with the phisophex cleanser and moisturise! Should help :)
