Thanks for sharing. I spent many a cold hour with my Newt. Meade Research Grade 10" F6. Many many years ago in 1966 I watch the heavens with my 4" reflector. I was 16. I read everything Fred Hoyle included. I watch Shoe Maker Levie 9 hit Jupiter with the 10. Your scope appears collimated very well. The mirror seems to have a good curve. Good Skies help too. Doesn't look like Andromeda but may just be the power you were using. Built Scopes and equatorial mts. Never could see well and now very bad. It helps using Sky Charts and learning the Stars, Constellations and RA and Dec.coordinates was a big plus. The Go To Scopes are great too. They open up the night sky to the novice and that is good. My mirrors needs resurfacing now but just can't see well anymore anyway. I did get to meet von Braun while representing my high school in Astronomy. I built rocket and pyrotec stuff then too. Thanks again. Clear Skies Friend. Some of you Commenters might look at the Celestron Go To Scopes. The 6" Cassie does a great job. Stay away guys from the department store 60 mm reflector junk. Size matters but power is only about 40‐60 power for an inch of aperture Objective lens or mirror. The focal length is very important as well. A long Fl. Is good for deep sky object and planets. Planetary scopes are long fl. F8-F12 or even longer. They wiggly in the wind and shake with a touch. Shorter scopes and Dobs are F2-F5 or so and are Light Buckets for defused objects and dim nebulas and galaxies. Andromeda is a classic and closes galaxy to our milky way. It and it companion are well viewed in large aperture Fast or F2 F6 scopes. The Ring Nebula in Lyra likes longer FL. Say F6 or longer. A larger aperture is desirable to resolve the center star illuminating the donut shaped ring. Remember a star at 50 power or 500 power is still just a point of light. It just is more unstable and boils in the Earths atmosphere worse and worse the higher we go in magnification. Sorry for being so long winded. Telecasterron

This orion nebula fascinates me. Two years ago the nebula was a dust cloud. Last year I saw a star inside the nebula. This year I see 3 stars in the nebula. I see this with the naked eye. Mind boggling.
