I've used wash out 1/4" binding tap. e to apply zippers for years. I think for something like this when I turn to stitch the binding on front I'll try it there also

If the zipper was on opposite side these would make great little catch all pouches to hang my trailer for small items...especially in the kid's bunk area.

That looked great, thanks. Just a tip: you can take your existing inserts for the binder as a template for the grommet position - more precise than measuring!

How could the measurements be altered to fit the latest Lori Holt binder that’s a bit narrower? I love the binder, but I can’t figure out how to use it - everything sticks out of it.
