About This Sound Bath

In music theory, there are consonant frequencies and dissonant frequencies. Consonant frequencies are those which are generally believed to evoke positive feelings. While dissonant frequencies are those said to bring on feelings of discomfort.

With singing bowls however, the dissonance creates a completely different experience. These tones create an incredible effect I call the ‘warble’. It’s a unique sensation of sound waves passing through you in rapid succession. Instead of “discomfort”, I find this intense sensation to be profoundly positive.

In this sound bath, I will shift between moments of consonance and dissonance.
Feel the warble pulsing through you.
Feel it breaking you free from any density holding you down.

Same! My cat loves these videos. She's a bit of a feisty one, a rescue with a sad past and penchant for swiping, but she settles down listening to this. If I'm wearing headphones, she will curl up on the couch next to my neck so she can listen in. She NEVER does that!

I've heard that cats are sensitive to healing tones, especially since their purring works in a very similar way, so this probably brings her so much peace and that's so sweet to hear. My own vat is a rescue too, a stray who wouldn't leave my side since she wandered into my yard. She's very particular with affection, but for me she's like a therapy cat and somehow gets even more cuddly when I play this kinda music, like shell curl yo in my arms and just wants to be hugged and it melts my heart cause she purrs as loud as if I just came back from a long trip. Man I love cats, and how they appreciate music as well

Thank you Travis. As an empath. Life can be overwhelming. It seems almost selfish to do any self care. The goal is always to press on. Someone will always need you, be grateful for you, become inspired because of you. It's my belief we are here to help each other, for the collective good, but not at the cost of ourselves. Tonight I Thank you for the gift of music, talent and time. I am lying on the floor snuggled with a blanket. Listening to this. As if a pause. As if, I hear and feel nothing else except me. Who tragically has been neglected, in these last weeks. The one person I forgot to care for while caring for others. For anyone who is reading this. Treat yourself, the way you treat others. Buy yourself flowers, take yourself shopping, go get that sweet treat. Do one nice thing for yourself and someone else today. Also give back while taking, and that includes yourself. You are beautiful. You are love. And you are loved just the way you are. I wish something really good happens to everyone today. Remember this won't last forever, like seasons, one must end and a new will begin. Death js an opportunity at a rebirth of something. Suffering is not for nothing. You can do hard things. Hi Travis, have you done this with a Deaf person or a group? I attended sound bath workshop once. I find it interesting that I can’t feel the vibration while lying close on the floor. I heard the sounds with my hearing aids. Is there a way I could accommodate for me to feel the vibration?

Video idea: I think it would be cool if you had a video of a total lunar eclipse happening at the speed that it naturally happens. Like have a black green screen, with a big image of the moon in the upper corner of the screen. The last eclipse I saw took a couple hours, from memory. This idea isn't from any sort of belief system/spiritual thinking, just it would be cool. Although probably the spiritual people would get very passionate I'm guessing. Ona similar note, it would be cool if you could do the same thing, but for a total solar eclipse. It would be cool to see the corona of the sun

How do you know which bowls creat dissonance or not?

So some sounds will match really well together that make a smooth wave. Dissonance is when to notes are played at the same time where there frequencies are clashing so it sounds like a more intense wave or it sounds wiggly if that makes sense.

The notes that have consonants usually sound smooth or the waves are similar in wave length so they are more harmonious. It’s harder to tell with sound bowls because they are so smooth and soothing but you could look it up and just google dissonance in music and consonants in music and you will be able to tell the difference a little morw
