Rick , I’ve always enjoyed watching your videos . Having restored several old buildings in my lifetime , I know how satisfying that type of work can be . Wishing you all the best with your new project . KEVIN L.

Thanks Kevin. I took my two GSPs out for the last few days and we began jacking up and replacing posts with pt posts. Dogs are having fun, and I am too.

I think it's charming hearing you describe your property with the same tone a listing. You're a natural! And also there's the cabin owner's paradox of a leisurely retreat that also requires a lot of work.

The maintenance of a property, large or small, is lost on a lot of folks. Thankfully, I enjoy the work. There are agents out there that hate property maintenance and pretend they actually know what is involved when dealing with a buyer and usually greatly downplay the realty of the potential project they are undertaking. I had a call from our office manager asking who to use as an inspector for off-grid power systems, usually the inspectors have a cursory knowledge of alternative energy but defer to me to explain what is there and how it works. Six decades of life on this planet, and growing up heating with wood, and actually harvesting it with my step dad, growing a garden, working on a farm, hunting and fishing the rivers and streams and forests around the small town I grew up on and having done a lot of other things in my life besides real estate sales has produced what you see on camera. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Hey Rick nice camp… looks like you got your hands full… I wish I could come help. I would look into some long I beams and jack that whole place up… dig some proper footings and set her down on them… lot of work but like you said it’s got good bones… with a wrap around deck that would be sweet… good video as always…

The goal is to clear up the driveway! Looks to me like you need an excavator. That would help a ton. Just have some stone dumped on the driveway and it would help a lot too. Lastly, you could bring up a few house cats. That would thin the mouse population too!!! LOL
@richardtheriault76242 ай бұрын
Well actually when we pulled out that mouse nest, there was a mouse in there and Boomer snagged it before it hit the floor. He and Blazer are pretty good mousers.

@richardtheriault76242 ай бұрын
I have seen bears in my yard at home in the past. They usually just are moving along unless you give them a reason to stay. It is good practice to be sure you do not leave food scraps, garbage or bird feeders out in bear country.

Lots of trees to fell to clear the road. I have quite a few birches that have been damaged by snow and ice so that they will never be straight again. They just bend lower and lower to the ground.
@hometown2152 ай бұрын
@@richardtheriault7624 I wonder how it would look if you cut the trunk about 8 feet up leaving the bend and letting it sucker out at the top. Which would be horizonal a few feet from the ground. May look cool and it not the deer or moose would love the new growth. Can't wait to see how it all turns out
