This announcement from Pete just made my entire day/weekend/month/year! I started poking around after the first video, but haven't nailed it down yet. So excited! Oh and also, the property is looking great!! I think as you get some grazers, having those little islands of shade and shelter in the back will be a big benefit, especially in the Texas heat.

I understand very well of what kelly is saying ,at the pace doing the land by hand, the first part would be grown back up. I had to pay someone to do the front and middle of the land , because i couldn't keep up with a walk behind mower.

You did right. Now as you keep it up and add you can cut back here and there. But really sheep or goats and pigs love thicket areas and will cut back alot themselves

I have used Mr. Joseph's service here recently... he is the truth. He is honest and very mindful of your time. I usually hear back within the same day from him which as you know, time is everything in real estate. I appreciate his service so much and he has saved me from what I realize now was a bad deal. That's another thing, when he says that he usually says no, he ain't lying! Trust the expert, you literally have nothing to lose.

gotta remember you don't want everything gone, shade for you guys is more important than north carolina and virginia, etc. Strategic placement of certain types of trees is what you're gonna want. It's always harder to plant trees where you want them cuz it takes years for them to grow.
@BetterTogetherLife

How do they handle clearing land with high probability of large rocks coming up to the service? We have just under one acre that is very overgrown but has some trees I want to save and my entire 3 acre property is FULL of large rock. I’m not sure what is the best technique to use to clear all the crap growth in that area.

With your available forage you are going to have to supplement a dairy cow with a good amount of other feedstuffs. Your grass isn't equal in quality to grass at somewhere like Justin Rhodes place so I would keep that in mind. It will be a lot more work for you to keep a dairy cow and a much higher feed bill. Just food for thought.
@BetterTogetherLife
@BetterTogetherLife 3 жыл бұрын
Of course, that is one reason that we know that we are FAR AWAY from being ready for a cow. Now I will say this that perhaps you can respond with your expertise...... I have also heard from many sources that: "The best way to improve land and pasture is to put a cow on it!" Thoughts? It seems to me that it could be a necessary investment to supplement a cow with hay or other "feedstuff" because it will greatly improve the grasses for the cow and spread the nutrients through rotational grazing.

@BetterTogetherLife
