Who knew that they would go on to play Uncle Jr. and Aunt Helen
@edubba838 ай бұрын
@@tarifalston8732 it's not the same woman. Ella English played Helen on "Jamie Foxx". The late Alaina Reed Hall (the one you see here as Garrett Morris' character's wife) was best known as Rose on "227"

She was so underrated on SNL

“Cleghorne!” I used to unexpectedly use this phrase as an exclamation back then. No cap for real.

I have no memory of this show. I was 9 back in 1995 and remember black tv shows like the back of my hand, but not this.
@janayholmes60723 ай бұрын
Welll this was a pilot so it may not have been granted to make into a full on series. A lot of shows from on this channel are forgotten black pilots that no one didn’t even know about

Rose from 227, and Garrett & Sherri . So many black sitcoms have come and gone.

These are the ones that made it at least the pilot stage. There are those with great promise that didn't make it to this stage and just died.

She started on SNL. I remember when she got her own show. I was proud of her. But this show was not it…

The script is like a rough rough draft. In fact I shocked this isn’t written by chatgtp.

I never got a chance to watch this show when it was in primetime. I love Ellen Cleghorne. Her standup comedy is hilarious. SNL had an opportunity to really showcase her comedic talent and charisma. Unfortunately, they missed the chance.

The 90s shows always had that one Jamaican character in it. I think it was a requirement back then.

Umm this show is awful. Great actors and comedians here, but the script is just bad. Also this premise is very bland. Did this only get a pilot? Can’t imagine it went on to become a series

2 darkskinned parents with a mixed child was forever the theme in 90s TV shows

This show is wack. UPN still was more Warner Bros.ish and stomped The WB in the ratings. UPN/Warner Bros./WB flagship. I'm reviving UPN, which was more popular 11 years straight and creating WB, a real Warner Bros. network, no "The" before "WB," no Tribune, no frog, no "dubba," "dubba," "dubba."
