Great video but I'm not sure about this "the technique is not mine to teach" business. There's nothing new under the sun, I'm sure GDC learned the technique somewhere. And give your own creativity some credit, I'm sure however you've done it on this model and the way you would teach it isn't 100% exactly the same as the way he would do it. By all means, give your influences a shout out, but hoarding knowledge just makes the world a dimmer place.

@@TheFeralPainter Ah I see, where he himself is charging for it. You may not see it this way, but you're actually doing him a real disservice then. By paygating the knowledge itself, you and he are essentially agreeing that what he's actually selling (his pedagogy) isn't worth it, and needs to rely on "secret knowledge" to justify its cost. Here's hoping someone freeboots it from him.

Dude seriously! Take a chill pill! Your getting on at me for talking about a technique. Your logic is floored, you might as well go shout at every single creator for creating and charging for patreon. Surely thats the same thing. I charge for my “wet effects” knowledge. Which im sure has probably been done before me. But no one ever complained. Also ive had several people reach out and say they have signed up for his work, so no, i disagree, this is not a disservice. If u dont like the content i make, then simply go elsewhere. Bye 👋
