I love it when clients say "here's the photo references of what I want an feel free to put your own creative spin on it." for a large piece. Then after several redrafts they turn around and just basically make you use the exact photo references. It makes me feel like a glorified copy machine who got the false impression of creative freedom. I really do appreciate the clients I get I just wish a small percentage of them wouldn't do that.

I love seeing what they can bring into it because I'm not gifted with the pre vision of tattoos lmao like here Me: I want my guitar tatted on me bit I want to add a little life to it Artist: well the neck is a difficult piece we can do a banner over the middle with your name Me: holy shit man that's actually damn good idea let's do it Artist: alright I got you were gonna do my original cursive font style Sends me a photo of the sketch and impressed me yes it's my first I was excited asf man 😂

Dan Kubin machine enthusiast here! I love my Kubin so much. I have a sidewinder 7R, and it has an adjustable stroke knob in the back! Instead of grabbing a 3.5, 4.2, or 5.0 machine for Bishop, the one Kubin can do all of those. The downside is that since it runs on the lower voltage (less than 7) you can't really use cartridges, so it takes a minute to switch needles. Side note about making coils: Mike Malone once said that coil machines are made with half science and half magic

Killing it folks, I managed a shop for 3 years. Learned to screen print there by my mentor and now 7 years later I'm running the show at a corporate shop and making my money. Will forever be grateful to them and theirs for taking me in when I was on the ground

Punctuality and communication Is so important. Don’t waste my time and I won’t waste yours. Nothing worse than waiting hours because an artist didn’t tell you they have to draw your design still.

Man this was an awesome one ! This was my first time tuning in but when I was at my normal 9-5 today I listened to the podcast on Spotify I got from 00 To the middle of 3. I read the bio I hope I got it write ! I wrote down 100% for all 3 of you guys ! Cam said 100% 13 times , Andi said 100% 5 times . And for grand total of times BIG JOHN said 100% ….. drumrollllllllll….. once 😂 here’s the time stamps keep up the good work ! We book clients for the day. First few hrs is drawing. Then we start tattooing around 11am. Of corse information is given upfront

"It's not the tool that makes the artist but how the artist uses that tool to make the art." Was taught this in college when we were debating what's the best brush in Photoshop and we got humbled real quick to find out there isn't a one all be all. It's how you use it is what matters, hell one of the head artists for Monkey Island only uses a soft airbrush for everything he does in photoshop and that man makes Thomas Kinkade style of paintings just using one brush.

Bro I would recomend that client to another artist. Any time I start with that they usually drop the bs because they want my work. But I tell them if you want to see what your tattoos gonna look like, look at my portfolio and if you don't liek what you see then maybe another artist would be best
