Check out Doolset notes and translation. This song was co-written with Australian singer songwriter, Troye Sivan. Unlike other songs on MOTS7 album, they’re not performed this song on a live stage yet.

I love this song. This song is To: ARMY. The translation in the lyric video is pretty lacking. BTS lyricism is truly on another level, it’s unfortunate when message gets lost in translation in these lyric video.

I picked up on that during a couple of them. I can tell that these videos aren’t completely accurate. I’ll definitely be on the lookout for better breakdowns to get an understanding. But their writing is amazing!

Yes! It could also be interpretated like this: Louder than bombs, as in louder than ARMY bombs. That relates with the "shadow amongst the cheers" too. But in the end they promise us that it's okay we are all sad at times, but they will sing to us endlessly

If you don’t know what ARMY bombs are…it is a light stick (circular with a stick to hold) that lights up. They are Blue-toothed so that at concerts they change colors to the music. They also sometime make words and stuff in the crowd with some ARMY bombs turned on and some off. It is so cool and beautiful to look at.

The light sticks ARMY uses in concerts is called an Army Bomb. Imagine this song being sang in the stadium full of Armies with their Army bombs on. Louder than those bombs, BTS wants to get their message across to the armies. 💜

I agree, even the lights and the waves refer to the ARMY bombs(light sticks) in concert. It's their perspective to ARMY. They want us to know their love for us is even louder than ours for them. That's so beautiful.

I love love love this song. I believe this is a song for ARMY. They recognise the shadow in our cheers. The fact that we have troubles and struggles behind our smiles. They won't pretend to see only the good things. And even though they have their own struggles, they will continue always to sing for us. Because they know that many of their fans rely on them for hope and joy and they'll wade through the filth of this world to help us because if not them, who will? This particular lyric video has terrrrible translations, though, lol.

As a general rule of thumb, if a song sounds like it’s about a relationship it is most likely relates to their relationship with ARMY. I always say I can’t even choose a consistent top 10 songs from BTS, but this one is always in my top 5!

But I also think people can have their own personal interpretations of songs too. Even if a song is written for ARMY it could also relate to a personal relationship whether it be romantic, familial, friendship, or love with one's self.

Yes BTS has Found you !!!! You do such “ real honest reactions! As you work your way through trying to figure out lyrics and being amazed at how your discovery of them is effecting you. This is something all of Army has gone through, we’ve all been there and understand. Yes as others said this song is addressing Army and other quotes explained it already.. you mentioned how impressed you are with Suga again… I’ve suggested it before but I strongly recommend you react to First Love by Suga on the “Wings” album as an musician and song writer I believe it will blow you away! BTS doesn’t usually do romantic songs. Most “love songs” are to ARMY. It’s not about war, unless it’s the hate (war) that the haters throw at them and ARMY.

LTB is very painful actually, many people think that is about the relationship between BTS and army Please check out all the songs from Map of The Soul:7, that is the same album from Louder Than Bombs. I recommend to start with Shadow or Filter

Hey there, 💜💜 the song is about their journey of encountering pain and sadness from their fans around the world and it's their response to ARMY saying they will listen and never stop singing. It's a beautiful song the singing and rapping is so on point. As someone mentioned as a writer you really need to read Doolset lyrics to get better-translated lyrics. I do love your interpretation because BTS does love folks different interpretations. I adore you, BTW...your sincerity is so refreshing.

I like that you appreciate ARMY is in it for the music, it speaks to us, the character of each individual is outstanding as well. Then you have a style that breaks barriers. The genre: BTS. I see it as a song about them, their past emotional struggles over breaking up, more success more pressure, the shadow in the cheers, the pain, the war inside them louder than the bombs (army bombs I guess, but the struggle, the pain in the song makes you feel it like a bomb in a war) and in the end message to the Army that they will keep going

Thanks for reacting and your thoughts💜💜… I recommend listening to the so but read lyrics off of doolsetbangtan…😉 During one of the RUN BTS episodes (a variety created by Bighit). Where tons of army answered surveys about song that they love, what song made BTS army, etc. and the members had to guess…Anyways one of the question was, what song does ARMY want to see a live performance of and it was this song (made in the Map of the Soul 7 album in 2019 but they haven’t had a live concerts with a live crowd because of Covid in so long) BTS themselves were so surprised.

BTS are wordsmiths. When I watch a lot of South Korean clips, they seem to set a very high value on word play, using acrostic poems etc as everyday normal mindgames(?) Its so interesting, clever and unique. Please correct me if Im wrong, but it seems like a very cultural thing. I can only admire it cos its out of my league

My interpretation is: “Baby Im nothing’er than nothing; lighter (weight-wise) than the light. You say I’m something’er than something; lighter (brightness-wise) than the light” Although I also think he says brighter and not lighter in the second part. Either way, he says he’s put in this pedestal he doesn’t believe he deserves to be in. Just today, on his bday, RM tweeted “thanks for all the undeserved congratulations” Our humble leader 🥺

I love your reactions and this song is so good! FYI I have no problems with you using these lyrics, I think Army purists get fanatical that we use the absolute best translations and yes if you have time but I appreciate you listening and you got the gist, but do remember that most songs like this are a song BTS sings most songs directly TO Army, as a giant entity. The song “2!3!” For example is entirely from BTs about Army standing by them through their roughest years when they had so many accusations against them just saying you were Army got you attacked online, so it’s a song about hoping for better days. And you are right it’s not just that the lyrics are poetic in a way that most never reach or even try for the music and vocal qualities match it by being soft, unexpected (Suga’s soft rapping kills me, and RMs verse, JHope too ugh). Masterful BSide song.

Let’s see and hear good things that we’ll never , means that there might be so much going on in the world but let’s look at only good things and hear only good things , implying that we should only say nice things and do nice things , they kind of took this song and said we , as a group know our fans and others struggles , we face the same sadness and pain , we picked this game , to continue and push through life , “ make a promise for you and I whatever wave may sweep over I will endlessly sing to you “ , they’ve made a promise and we’ve made a promise , that no matter what hardships come we will sing for each other as encouragement to keep going on , Louder than bombs can be taken that we might break at times so loud it’s unbearable but sometimes we will say what we need to louder than bombs , they’ve read and heard a lot of armies stories and they see what they’ve done for each of us

A majority of their songs are about a relationship with themselves, army, and each other..kinda. The part about themselves is very deep and it goes down to egos, personas, inner demons, etc. I highly recommend looking up the accurate translations.

I think "this song is for army" agenda is going out of hand sometimes. Just pls listen to this from the point of BTS, like it is written by them for singing for them to ease their mind. It is dialog like, they are talking with each other. We chose this road, we suffered a lot, we are at the top of the world now but have to deal with a lot of shit silently and we are in this together, even though sometimes I despised you I did not wanted to suffer with you, now we are here and going through it together. Rm's part looks like he speaks towards fans but actually an introspective reflection. (btw: cheer - cheer of the stadiums&fans, like tae&jimin song "friends: "Someday, when these cheers die down, Stay with me by my side")

From what I gather, I know this song was written for ARMY, and when you break it down, the first verse is talking about how they started, not sure if they could make it and how they saw all the hate thrown at them "Louder then Bombs I break" Second part goes into how people are telling them their music is good, and how they are making people feel better, and now they are unsure if they want this kind of power. I actually stopped listening to kpop for a few years now but listening to this I can clearly tell that their vocals are more balanced now than before, the song itself is good my only problem with this is that I hope they highlight the vocals more rather than the background instrumentals, this always have been my problem with kpop songs is that the instrumental or background music is louder than the vocals even the non-pop songs like ballad or rnb always overpowers the vocals so sometimes I don't know what they're saying anymore. This song is good and the message is good but if where to listen to it it's kinda hard to focus on what they are saying or the message because of the instrumental is overpowering the voice or vocals.

Check out Bulletproof the Eternal. This song reminds me of love song to ARMY no matter what happens BTS is here for ARMY. The endure ridiculous accusations such as Billboards interview, being snubbed by Grammy but no matter BTS is going to sing Louder than bombs. They even signed another 7 year contract not because of money but because of ARMY. There is a video of BTS performance is done on dirty stage no coverage but they performed because they knew ARMY was waiting even though everyone else had left. If you watch their performances it takes them 30 minutes at least to say goodbye because they don’t want to leave.
