When middle-schooler Emily Elizabeth (Darby Camp) meets a magical animal rescuer (John Cleese) who gifts her a little, red puppy, she never anticipated waking up to find a giant ten-foot hound in her small New York City apartment. While her single mom (Sienna Guillory) is away for business, Emily and her fun but impulsive uncle Casey (Jack Whitehall) set out on an adventure that will keep you on the edge-of-your-seat as our heroes take a bite out of the Big Apple. I will always cherish John Ritters Clifford in the cartoon. The world they lived in was more accepting of a big red dog. He had his incidents but there were no chase scenes and villains. Not that all that is bad. It’s just “different.” We humans have trouble with “different”.

Yeah and that’s a damn shame, innit? Because not everything new is bad. Just because something is different doesn’t automatically mean it’s terrible. You have to be open minded about most things and try to give it a fair chance. Sometimes, change can be great! Doing the same damn thing forever will get boring after a while. Artists are allowed to experiment, explore and further push the boundaries of established media, whether it’s movies, music, shows, games, whatever. Let them do what they want. Some ambitious experiments will flourish beautifully while others not so much and that’s okay. Taking risks is part of the fun and part of how we get better entertainment in the future while also being able to adjust to the times and welcome countless new generations of fans to these legacy properties. 💝😌🙏🏼

I was watching the old school Clifford cartoons the other day. Honestly, those old school shows are better than all the loud, obnoxious, over-stimulating garbage out there now. One theme. No harsh background music. Calming. Good lesson. My nephew loves it and so do I.

As a big fan of the Clifford TV show, I cannot express how genuinely thrilled I am to see this! This trailer had me crying at the part where Emily says “People don’t like things that are different. There are no other dogs like you.” Yet, it warms my heart to see my childhood show in live action movie form. I hope Paramount pulls this off big time!

Such a Wonderful and Adorable family flim. I cried watching it in the theater. How can you not watch and after the flim is over go and want to adopt a puppy at your local shelter. Can't wait for it to come to DVD next year. Good Boy Clifford Good Boy.

This CG is pretty rough. The movie looks like a really fun time, and I'm sure kids are gonna love it. But man, it's really hard to look past the rough compositing on Clifford in almost every shot he's part of. People will probably think I'm being super nit picky, but I grew up with Clifford, man. Even as an adult, I'm still kinda invested in this.

I agree. In my opinion it defeats the whole point. Why make Clifford a live-action movie if they aren't going to put in the effort to make Clifford look remotely realistic? Look at 1:50, the kids "petting" Clifford is so badly directed that it's not even slightly convincing that Clifford exists. I don't think it's nit-picky, if the main character is badly composited in every scene, that's nothing but a major flaw in film making.

Honestly, i love it. Clifford still looks adorable as hell. I can't wait to watch this on Paramount+(not sitting in a movie theater surrounded by little kids who don't know how to act in a theater.)

I work at a theater so I know what kids can be like there. I don't know if it would practical for your situation but could you consider going to see it some time when kids are in school. Theaters have been hurting for money since being closed for a little over a year.

@@gleove1 I personally don't want him to speak. This is a live action movie. Clifford might be big and red, but he's still just like a real life dog. And part of that is because he doesn't speak like a person. But if they do end up making him speak english in a sequel, I'll be ok with it i guess. But it'll still be kind of weird to see him have full on conversations with emily in live action.

I 100% agree with this commenter, and everyone replying! This movie was no doubt the CUTEST MOVIE I'VE EVER SEEN, and the fact that a couple of people, mainly the people over at the Rotten Tomatoes didn't really like his design because they thought it looked weird or creepy is just stupid. I thought there was absolutely nothing wrong with his design. His design in this movie is exactly what a big red dog would look like in real life, and I think the CGI in the movie captured his look perfectly. I mean, this is a LIVE ACTION movie, for crying out loud! What else do you expect?! If they got rid of the design he got in the movie, and changed it completely, it would have just looked weird, and it probably wouldn't even look like a dog at all. But enough about his design. This movie, to me, was just way too adorable! And I don't know about everyone here, but I desperately need for it to get a sequel!🥺♥️ 🙏

Just saw the #cliffordmovie and it lives up to the trailer and beyond, it's a must see movie of 2021 alongside Dune. Clifford is a fun filled, non-stop heart wrenching movie from beginning to end. A lot of highs and lows that'll leave you rooting for Clifford all the way.

I remember all the Clifford reading picture books, those Vhs of the Pbs one, and I also had a Clifford The Big Red Dog Stickers from my Elementary School notebook journal that my old teacher gave me. In the 2000s, Clifford was a big for kids my age like you know damn. I’m 20 and taking College, I forget how much it was energetic back then.

@@EnergeticEchidna Sonic 2 doesn't come out till 2022 while this movie is coming out next month so they're pushing the marketing for this movie more because it's nearing the release date. Be patient, we'll get the trailer soon. Takes time you know for the studio to make a 2 minute trailer

Oh wow. I grew up watching the cartoon version of Clifford the big red dog voiced by the late and great John Ritter. I hope this movie is good. But omg even big Clifford is so cute in the movie. They did a good job there.
