3. SOUNDBITE (Italian), Elisa (no surname given), Extinction Rebellion activist:
"We are here to say that G7 is not taking any concrete decision for the green transition. All the countries that are gathering here are taking no measures. They are going in the opposite direction. Italy wants to become a European hub for fossil gas. USA are one of the main investors in fossil fuels as the other countries involved in the G7."

5. SOUNDBITE (English) Dario (no surname given), Extinction Rebellion activist:
"We are seeing a lack of decisive and radical action from the government and this means that there is more than 80% chance of missing the 1.5 degrees threshold from Paris Agreement, therefore we need to take radical action right now and this is not happening from governments in the G7, especially the Italian government. And we demand that now."

STORYLINE:
Climate activists from Extinction Rebellion chained themselves at the gate of the G7 media centre in Bari on Friday to protest against what they said was a lack of action in climate change policy.
"All the countries that are gathering here are taking no measures. They are going in an opposite direction," said Dario, one of the activists, who did not give a surname.
Another protester stressed the need to apply pressure and "radical action" on the governments of the G7 countries.
The G7 gathering in a luxury resort in Italy’s southern Puglia region is focusing on migration, global conflicts and the spread of artificial intelligence.
Perennial issues such as climate change and China also will be discussed.
