45° C in England?!?!?!?!? That sounds terrifying! I don’t even want to know about what the temperature would be like on the Mediterranean, Australia, and the US: they would become uninhabitable due to extreme heat and drought! This is seriously terrifying!

45c in southern England, northern and central France and Germany with a 3 degree increase would mean the Middle East is unliveable. Dubai is at the upper limit already, a 3 degree increase would doom them. A 6 degree increase would be even more worse.

Yusof Najm How rude and annoying. No one said they were giving up. What they said was the truth. Even if all or civilization succeeds in changing our living structures and become a green civ, we will still experience things from greenhouse gases. There is a 30 to 40 year delay. What we put out now, we will experience later. It IS depressing. Everyone should feel depressed and angry over this, but they should not give up. Have hope and fight corruption so we can move into a green future as a species.

Although in a warmer climate those trees could be burned down. Warming causes wildfires which releases co2 to cause more warming to cause more fires and so it goes on. A feedback loop.

China s is not really doing that, they know the Climate in northern China is getting drier and that would kill of the trees with drought and fire. Also China is the biggest emitter of greenhouse gases.

Yes, but it would require keeping 80% of current reserves of oil and coal in the ground, starting today. These reserves are currently valued at 20 trillion dollars and supply almost all the world's energy. Economic growth without energy is likely not possible, so world GDP/living standards would take a serious downsize. Industrial agriculture which feeds the world is fossile-fuel dependent, so that will also be a problem. Obviously, these measures are unlikely to be implemented. I'm sorry. It's still possible that Geo-engineering could limit the damage in the future.

I just wonder, I am not an expert, just read some papers and some geographical mechanism and I just wonder. Why will amazon became a desert, what will happen to coriolis effect, equatorial air rising etc. World's geographical shape will not change because of the climate change right, and also how could be the ice of antarctica where the average temperatures are -10 degree Celsius in warmest areas fully melted and ocean levels increased fifty meters. Isn't it supposed to be more evaporation and so more water in air and so more rain in suitable areas like tropics and crossings of dominant warm and cold winds. Yes for middle East and Mediterranean, by the increase in temperatures siberian cold air flow will be weaker and so these regions will be more arid and the arid hot places will be literally like hell by the 5 degree Celsius increase. However there will be still oreographic precipitation in mountainous areas of Turkey spain Italy etc. It is not good but I don't think it will be the end of days for Mediterranean countries, especially for the richer ones, although their lands will be more arid, there will be still water for drinking, house use and drip irrigation, like Israel. And for Dubai etc, well saudis still earn money from religious tourism but they have to spend very carefully, and Dubai had increased its non petroleum based economy. For Oman and yemen well perhaps rainfall increase in these countries, if not they have to change and use their tourism and mining potential be more careful when exploiting their fisheries etc but nearly non of these countries has an important agricultural activity, perhaps yemen has some but still a decrease in barely exist rainfall will not affect much these mostly rich countries. For Israel if desalination and very cheap energy technologies will not improve enough, it will be very devastating. For Egypt I have no idea what will happen to nile and also even a slight increase in sea levels will ruin most important areas in the country. For Algeria Tunisia and Morocco, probably millions of refugees will flow from these countries to europe but I have not a clear idea. I am not against the measures against climate change but I wonder and I want to watch more realistic forecasts with reasons.

Look what happened millions of years ago , the earth warmed , the ice began to melt , and new life , life that we see today , but before the ice , the earth was formidable , hostile sub tropical very hot , terrarium type environment , it will eventually be that again once all the ice left has completely melted , maybe 10,000 years from now is my guess , perhaps ten times that , it depends alit on volcanoes , they would cause rapid heating , or a meteor impact , asteroid , but not us microdust organisms . That’s just a big lie and global wealth transfer scam .

Not really. At global +4°C the Sahara region is expected to be on average +10°C warmer than it is now. [Remember current temperatures there are already often >50°C) Rainfall will be increased but probably not enough to make it agriculturally viable. The Sahel (the arid belt south of the Sahara) will develop a more equatorial-like climate and the possibility of being fertile and reforested. In any case it will take quite a while for primal rainforests to re-grow in new locations. The Amazon, Congo and Southeast Asian rainforests will mostly have died off completely before we reach 4°C. Btw this is the world we're headed to in our lifetimes so, good luck :)

Why not choose 20 degrees? It would be more spectacular. "What If"---- The world's most useless phrase. "What if I go through that red light now" "What if the plane's wings fall off" "What if there's an earthquake." etc. A great way to get excited about disasters that "could" happen. "If" isn't a predictor of the future, just a tool to create fear.
