They've been studied numerous times, and because of their homeland, culture, and way of life over the centuries and centuries their biological makeup has changed to be more suited for high altitudes

These are indigenous people called Sherpas that train and help climbers navigate and climb Mount Everests for small financial fees. I will congratulate them for what they do since they hardly ever get the respect and credit they deserve!

His heart rate had to be well close to 200bpm at that altitude. To carry a 150lb-200lb person at sea level for six hours would be incredible but at 8000 meters is godlike ability.

That climber was actually a Sherpa who left his client behind to make a rescue for a complete stranger in what is known as the “death zone”. This area is not a place where rescues are typically possible and it is above Camp 3 on Everest. This man risked his life to save a stranger and bodied that guy down to Camp 3 on his back. LEGEND!

If he was my Sherpa I wouldn’t be upset that we are abandoning our climb to save someone’s life. Imo that’s a much more meaningful and memorable experience than just saying I reached the top. No, I postponed my ascension to save a man’s life, who could live with their self to leave a man to die regardless if he’s grateful or not.

I remember not too long ago a person died while going up a mountain. Every walked ober him to continue their journey. I remember how sad i felt knowing hes was dying and no one helped him. Seeing this make me think of that person. Im so glad this person chose to save this mans life. God bless them both!!!!❤

Well, that statements not true. Elite Alpine Style climbers don't use Sherpa support. Reinhold Messner soloed Everest with no oxygen .

The funny thing is the dude that he saved ignored and blocked him on IG for the first 2 weeks after he saved him, after tons of pressure from the public only did the dude unblock him and thank him in which the Sherpa still wished him good health. That Sherpa sure is a good guy 😊

What’s aggravating is he was going to be paid to do his clients trip, but stopped to save him, and the guy promised the Sherpas 20 grand to rescue him but then didn’t want to pay them but 4 I think. They saved his life and he didn’t want to pay them for saving his life. People weren’t happy to hear that, but they said they were glad he saved his life.

In the comments there's a link . I'm guessing the rescuer was a Sherpa, who possibly gave up his own and his client's summit, to save this guy. It's shameful if he thought of any Sherpa, much less a professional guide, as simply a convenience there to save him from his bad decisions.

Being someone that has climb 3 of the top 7 mountains in the world. I don't know if anyone realizes how hard this actually is. At that altitude you barely have enough in the tank for yourself. So big props to this man! Heroic on another level.

The Special Forces in Mexico can do that without sleeping and eating nothing for whole 2 weeks (only water and minimum food because when the trainers let them eat, it's for make them throw up all over. it's their first training, if they pass that 2 weeks then the real training starts, so the first part of this training has to be also the pro climber training.

It was more than just a fellow climber who saved him, it was a Sherpa. Sherpas are the most kindest people on earth ❤ I feel they should be labeled differently than a climber because that is THEIR mountain. The dude who got rescued also proceeded to go on to Instagram and thank his sponsors and NOT the Sherpa for his survival. Some people are absolutely worthless. The sherpa should have left him there lol Edit: I think the main post was on Instagram, not Twitter.

@@Alexe829 He did actually carry him to camp 4 by himself the whole way but It’s a much faster way to carry him and would be hard for 2 people to carry, both dangerous and would hurt their arms. I’m sure the other guys carried his bags down for him tho

And he only thanked the sherpa after people got mad at him online for posting a thanks to only his sponsors. The sherpa is a hero, the survivor should be ashamed.

The ratios went from like 1 sherpa to many climbers to many sherpas to 1 climber. They are almost "disposable" to these pay to climb "mountaineers".

Good for him a truly selfless hero. 99.99% of climbers in that situation leave the people to die and make the excuse it’s too harsh to rescue anyone. This is proof positive that it is possible you just have to be selfless enough to do it.
