Enjoy this mountaineering documentary about climbing Antarctica's Mt. Vinson! Please 'subscribe' for more adventure videos and 'thumbs up' this one. 7SummitsBlog.com for videos, podcasts, gear lists, other 7 summits resources to stay updated.
Vinson Massif (aka Mt. Vinson) was the final climb in my 7 summits journey. It became the most personal and emotional of all the 7 summits... this is the story of my team's climb. The guide outfitter in this expedition was International Mountain Guides.
Vinson Massif is a large mountain massif in Antarctica that is 21 km (13 mi) long and 13 km (8 mi) wide and lies within the Sentinel Range of the Ellsworth mountain range. It's's Antarctica's tallest mountain, making it one of the '7 Summits.' Elevation‎: ‎4,892 m (16,050 ft). The main route is not technical, but does involve snow travel, which is steep on the headwall. (About 35-40 degree incline). First ascent‎: ‎1966 by Nicholas Clinch and party. 700 nautical miles from the South Pole.
It's often guided by International Mountain Guides, Alpine Ascents International, and others... all of whom use Antarctic Logistics & Expeditions for transportation. The cost to climb increases each year, primarily due to the flight cost, which is more than $30,000. The remaining balance (usually at least $12,500 additional) is for guide service.

One of the few docus I've ever seen that put a smile on my face after watching. Not only is the footage incredible, but the narrative is so touching and authentic. I think lots of us restless explorers, always chasing the next adventure, can relate to it. A must watch!

One of the many things I love about mountaineers is that, no matter how cold, how much pain, or how little air you have, you give us this. A chance to view something that most of us will never see in our lifetime. Thank you seems so small in comparison to such gifts, but I do thank you, thank you so very much.

felt the same. just spot on words for something so hard to describe with words, or even pictures, videos, emotions.. really got me hard, the hole video, the why, the how. just everything let me remember what is life about and why you should start and do live your dreams. no matter how hard it is to actually do some big steps in life. i know its "easy to say", but it is what it is guys.. big love out to everyone, keep up your smile and stay safe

This video should have a lot more 'likes' than it has got. All mountaineering videos are great, but what makes this one very special is the constant personal touch of emotions and humour the narrator has put in it. Climbing is, after all, very very personal. Thank you for your personal story. Believe in yourself - always. There is no "devil" in your head, there is only YOU in your head. Each negative thought, each disempowering quip, each backwards feeling, is all a part of your own subconscious thoughts coming to the surface to create fog and confusion. There is only you, nothing or no one outside of you matters. Nothing or no one outside of you defines you, lifts you, topples you, makes you, or breaks you. Only you are you, only you are who should matter to you in terms of your own spiritual well-being, and only you can be the one who chooses to rise above adversity or to succumb to it. Believe in yourself, no matter the circumstances or surroundings, and there can never be anything or anyone outside of your own inner belief system who will ever be able to destroy your joy! :) Love and light.

Climbing the seven summits has been a dream of mine since I was a kid. For a long time, it seemed like a dream that was completely unattainable, and I gave up on that dream to be more “realistic.” People told me that it would be impossible for me to ever achieve this goal, and I listened to them. But to me, the Seven Summits represent the ultimate test of endurance, willpower, perseverance, and inner strength and a huge challenge that takes you on the ultimate adventure of a lifetime. I’m 22 years old now and I can’t wait to begin my journey toward climbing the Seven Summits. I know that I have what it takes, and I'm determined now more than ever to make this dream a reality!!

This documentary was very well thought out and the narrative is well-written. The footage and photography was incredible as well. Every other documentary I've every watched about mountain climbing has only told one story; that of a climber conquering (or failing) against a huge mass of rock. You managed to tell more than one story, which was impressive and relatable. I just tried to access your website so that I could see your more videos like this one, but unfortunately my browser is saying that it cannot be reached. Have you since taken it down?

I've watched just about every mountaineering video on youtube and this one is by far, hands down, the best one I've seen. The filming is incredible. It makes you feel like your right up there with them. And the scenery is spectacular. So beautiful. And I can't say enough about the poetic narrating. He gives emotion to the already perfect views with the perfect words. WOW!!! If I could I wouldn't buy you a beer, I'd buy you the whole bar! Thank you for the experience.

This is a beautiful comment. Thank you so, so much. It’s for people like you that I made this documentary. I’m so glad that you were positively impacted by it and perhaps one day we’ll go make a dent in the whole bar! :-)

Inspiring. I hope to achieve the feat you have one day :) Australian mountains are mostly hills and I don’t have the money yet to go up high in the snow. But man did you make me feel like I went there today! Thank you. Congrats man

@linkin the description ... I’m honored to be a small part of your journey, taking you on a climb. You can make it happen. I started with no money and come from the desert where nobody climbs big mountains. Keep the dream and vision alive. You can do this.
