"If you didn't eat, you'd be hungry!" So much wisdom!
@Climbing3D
@Climbing3D 5 күн бұрын
It is definitely, and subtly points out certain threats to the future of climbing, so as not to offend anyone. The first era was capitalism - "if you don't work, you have no money, you don't eat and you're hungry." Obvious. The second is communism - "If you don't work, you still have benefits, so you're not hungry." In this era, people have to be forced to work like in a movie. This leads to the next era: liberalism in everything - "If you don't work, you have even more money from benefits, and even if you don't eat, you're not hungry for weeks." In this era, even people standing at the wall could barely touch the wall. We are entering this era and this may be the end of climbing's popularity. I think that's what the authors mean here.

Horses also walk or climb on single digits - that hoof you see is a middle finger (and the middle finger you se is a complex symbolic signal that you have socially erred) This means that pockets for horses must be buckets for others. Crack climbing often results in horses being stuck. While they can skillfully free-solo, due to their inherently placed pro, and will never zipper off in a fall, removing the protection is a constant bother, which possibly means that they may never have the stamina for extended crux moves. No worries about taping up or losing skin, though Do NOT expect a good belay from horses, though they are strong once the rope goes taut. It's the feeding of line that they find difficult, although they CAN themselves feed efficiently from bags, during ascents. And for those whose aesthetic of climbing includes some solitude and routes free from traffic, a horse's Power Whinny quickly attracts others, whose presence and leavings at the bottoms of routes give a WHOLE NEW meaning to the climbing concept of smearing on small holds. Horses rather powerfully pinch, Should you ever experience one's grip, they can be estimated at 800 lbs pressure or more. It will behoove you to avoid a horse pinch grip.
