Winter ascent of the Allalinhorn (4027M) Nordwand. A beatiful North face above Saas Fee in Switzerland. The climb is 'only' graded AD+/D-, however, the challenging conditions in mid winter made it quite an adventure. Very strong winds and windchill up to -22 degrees Celcius made it a proper winter mountaineering adventure.
After climbing the North Face we descended the normal route. Normally this route is a well trodden path, but with only 20 meters of visibility, freezing temperatures and no tracks, the descent was far from easy.
All in all, a great day out!
