Bryn, idk if you'll read these comments, but just a little before black friday I stopped playing poker. You were the last person I discussed a hand with, LOL. You told me I misplayed. This was way back in... idk maybe 2009 or 2010? So fast forward 11 years, I have lived all kinds of life, went into air force, got a degree, married, kid. Then I move to pennsylvania and I decide to start playing poker again. Then I see that YOU ARE THE WINNINGEST TOURNAMENT PLAYER OF ALL TIME. You probably don't even remember me, but good job, that's incredible. -asdf2000

Great pod and interesting mindset stuff. Poker wise his quarter pot quarter pot, pot bluff line is something galfond advises strongly against. The read has to be really good due to the price on your bluff getting worse on each street so was interesting for Bryn to talk about this as a key example

Was happy to see an interview with #1, I was so saddened to not find advice for upcoming players, advice on improving etc. Did I miss them asking him those questions? If not- I don't understand why :P Seems like a waste.

Love this channel but I strongly disagree with the decision to give a platform to a cheater. Him speaking about how he sacrificed his bankroll and success to help others has to be the biggest bs ive ever heard on a podcast. Cant believe a word he says after that.
@Dodopoker
@Dodopoker 5 ай бұрын
I think platforming can be okay, but I would say that you have a journalistic responsibility to at least try to push back a bit and not uncritically fall into the person's frame. At one point of the podcasts, one of the hosts said something about how Bryn is "so big on integrity," or something like that, after Bryn said that integrity is important to him. It was said in a way that sounded like the host was confirming to listeners that Bryn has unusually high integrity. Just because someone says this about themselves doesn't mean you have to repeat it.

It's absolutely appalling how the poker space just lets people like this come onto podcasts, keep playing in major events, and still have online accounts intact after the actions he's done. It's really disheartening. I love this pod and really enjoyed guests such as Pads, Uri, Patrick Howard, Munezz_Starr, but please vet your guests. It's disgusting to see scum of the poker world just allowed to be seen in such a positive light.

Honestly thinking "gto is robotic and takes away a players ability to be creative" is just a fundamental misunderstanding of what gto is and how it can be used as a tool. A solver is a tool not a bible.
@marshallmcgill3513

He is saying that to discourage people from studying it... classic misdirection tactic. There is NO WAY hes not using a solver to study while playing.

@bryan-still-a-poker-player I can guarantee you he is practicing with a solver. There's just no way to understand the game without game theory. Besides conspiracies, it's always your responsibility to make sure you're not being cheated, and plenty of people will take the opportunity right in front of you if you don't protect yourself. Do you think Mikki Mase was cheating? The casinos do, and they kicked him out of all casinos without evidence because the system is set up to cheat you.
@bryan-still-a-poker-player
@bryan-still-a-poker-player 5 ай бұрын
@marshallmcgill3513 wtf you are all over the place. I don't think Bryn is squeaky clean - I think he is likely a cheater. There are people that play poker at a high level that don't use solvers. I don't think Bryn is doing "classic misdirection" so the plebs don't get better. At best he is trying to convince you how smart he is. He doesn't give a shit about 50nl guys and if they study. He certainly isn't going to convince Chidwick and Koon to not use solvers lol.

Wow this scammer. If he owned his actions, I would be a lot more okay with watching this, but he just denied clear evidence that he was cheating. Justin Bonomo, Jungleman, and a few others have been caught ghosting or multi accounting. They all owned their actions, apologized, and moved on. Bryn Kenney denied and showed no remorse which leads me to believe he's still active in his unscrupulous activities.

This guy is a cheater isn’t he? Unless those allegations were proven false I don’t understand why you would invite someone of questionable character on your podcast. Plenty of other guys out there who win at the game without cheating who you can invite to learn from.
@MechanicsOfPoker
@MechanicsOfPoker 5 ай бұрын
Just allegations, out of context/proportion stories and media blowing it up to get traffic in my opinion. Whistle blowers source imo very unreliable and imo makes little sense. And giving I think Bryn brings something unique to the pod we decided to bring him on knowing that it will be either hated or loved so this one is for the lovers 🫶🏻 the haters will have to wait for the next one. Not here or interested in discussion around it, as I think it shadows what can be learned from him, but just wanted to point out that he is not proven guilty of cheating. No Jake or Ali pods next 😂
