Thanks for the tip about letting go before you "pop" off to avoid injuries. Hurt my elbow popping off (i am a total noob) and really didn't know what caused it till you mentioned getting hurt that way. Thanks for that.

Those first couple ones remind me of my friend telling me how one of our older climbing friends went bouldering with his teenage daughter and all those young ripped guys were doing climbs where you had to jump in the beginning... He, being the cool dad thought he would show those guys how it's done and knocked himself out just to open his eyes with those guys checking whether the old man had just killed himself :D :D :D

i dont climb and have never climbed in my life. Rolls are an incredible way to protect yourself. Parkour, gymnastics, and plenty of others have proved that. As far as I can tell there is little effort to teach people how to fall in gym climbing, let alone reduce injury.

The into the wild shirt ninja dude totalle nailed it with his roll! When I went bouldering and fell or jumped off I always tried to make a roll and I constantly was laughed at for this. But your momentum has to go somewhere and there's a reason parcours runners do rolls all the time after big jumps. Besides, I never injured myself in contrast to some of the people who laughed at me rolling around the gym...

💯 percent agree a good roll out feels great. But Sometimes you just need to take the pancake lol 😂 it’s the best way to fall on a trampoline. Worse thing you can do is stick arms out.

can you maybe do a video as though you are running away from something and happen to run up on a cliff and need to get down? like in so many movies, I just assume if anything ever goes sideways that at some point I am going to be trapped between a fall off cliff and a dinosaur, or worse. is top down rope soloing a thing? As in you tie in at the top and then climb down as your actual pitch climbing?

Or, you could down lead because you get benighted on the top of super slab with only one rope for the double rope rap after your third rapped off the first pitch with the other rope and the pack with the other headlamps in it to go make dinner so you downclimb with one headlamp between the two of you and place and remove pieces because you’re too cheap to leave gear behind as a rappel anchor. Poor planning and priorities, but it could happen...
