It sounds like both MBT and DBT are equally effective, but as someone trained in psychodynamic therapy I have a preference for MBT.

Not in anyway a criticism. Just feedback. That caring voice this guy is doing and counselors etc do and the way he is reframing what the client is saying. Sounds really patronizing when it comes into my ears and is processed by my brain. I know that isn't what is intended. Just a heads up for therapists. Caring voice and reframing can sound patronising and may have the client feel grumpy and defensive even if they don't realise it.

"I don't want to start the session with a thought that is not valid." sounds not very validating. Otherwise great session, thanks for sharing.
