I love clinique especially moisture surge range, when I used to use wipes I found that it made my skin feel icky but now I use baby wipes when I need to but good for wiping heavy eye make up or touch ups or cleaning g brushes in between use as I hate unclean brushes as they cause spots easily

I have been using the Clinique Acne Solutions Face and Body Bar, Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel and Cream (I use one in the morning and one at night), followed by the Acne Solutions Clinical Clearing Gel which I have since then replaced with the Dramatically Different Hydrating Clearing Jelly. This routine is so gentle and allows me to target my acne and oil without stripping my skin.

With the retinol/vitamin A, it is used at night time because it is degraded by UV rays. It is still usable in the day but its efficacy would be degraded so it's pointless. The temporary "thinning" experienced is merely due to the dead skin cells being thoroughly removed (exfoliated) from the stratum corneum; which in turn does expose the "newer" and more sensitised skin cells to the UV rays come daytime. Vitamin A derivatives are known for causing irritation which is a shame but for me, Tretinoin yields such an amazing result that I'm willing to compromise in this regard. I've just ordered the iD DDML with the green cartridge for irritation! Can't wait to start using it when it arrives. My all-time favourite Clinique product is the TTDO Cleansing Oil as well as the Super City Block Sheer SPF 40! I am yet to try the mineral SPF 50 - have you used it? Also, what are your thoughts on Estee Lauder? I've been using ANR for years and just started using the new formulation!

I love Clinique generally and discovered your channel a little by accident but sadly after I had already bought Clinique's new BB gel which I don't like at all and agree with pretty much everything you said. Anyway, I was just wondering whether you had tried all about clean 2 in 1 cleansing and exfoliating jelly as I am considering buying it to help with clogged pores/whiteheads - would welcome any advice

I really liked the eyecream but I find a normal moisturiser enough so I don’t use eyecream anymore but what I really love is the take the day off cleansing oil 😍 it is just amazing and you don’t need a lot 🥰

Quick question!! ☺️ When you had more Oily/combo skin would you say you preferred the Gel or the Jelly moisturiser? i went about a year ago when clinique ID was first out told the lady i was oily combo and she recommended the normal dramatically different moisturiser and i hated it! left my skin so shiny and greasy! 🙁 i’m looking to give it another go but not sure to try the gel or jelly! 😇😇😇

I have a question. After doing the 3 steps skin care can I put moisture surge 100h at night? Or the overnight mask? Thank you

I agree 100% with everything you reviewed specially with the Retinol ! If you use retinol your skin is irritated and dry what is the point of that ! I agree 100% with NOT using retinol

Thank you for the review..I am skintype 3 and have been using it for years and years.I would always use a cotton pad ,however recently someone said it should be just patted on the face with bare hands!!!what do you recommend please?The clarifying lotion I meant🥳

I used to work for clinique....use a cotton pad. It will wipe the dead skin as well as dirt/makeup left behind from cleansing away.

I wanted to love the clarifying lotion so much, but it just didn't suit my skin. I didn't try the one without alcohol though, so maybe that would have suited me. I use the DD Moisturising Lotion throughout the year and then switch to Moisture Surge during the winter (but I'm definitely trying the jelly with the cartridge next). Love this video!

That’s a shame! I think the clarifying lotion is a real ‘love it or hate it’ product. But maybe pop into counter and see if you can try out the alcohol free one? That’s a great idea! And thank you ☺️💕

When would you use the jelly, and when would you use moisture surge? Xx
@AmyAstridBeauty
@AmyAstridBeauty 4 жыл бұрын
Good question! To be honest, I use them as an when I feel like it but as a general rule of thumb, I’d use the jelly as an everyday moisturiser and then the moisture surge when my skin feels like it needs a little bit more hydration than usual. Xx

I know it’s almost a year after you asked the question. But I just had a consultant meeting with Clinique and they told me I can use the jelly as the third step in my 3 phase cleaning routine and then use the moisture surge on top. So maybe this helps anyone else who wonders 😊

Clinique is french for Clinic, meaning a place or part of a hospital where a particular kind of medical treatment or advice is given, just proves brands will use any name for their brand as long as it looks cool
@AmyAstridBeauty
@AmyAstridBeauty 3 жыл бұрын
Yes absolutely! It’s because of their science-first approach, being founded by a dermatologist and the brand having been born out of the question ‘Can great skin be created?’

I love the moisture surge, but do not like intense hydrator, I'm also not a fan of the 96 hour intense eyes. Sticky and didn't notice much difference.

I just used the DD jelly & I’m super tacky right now & I used a normal amount. I got the DD jelly in a sample about 5 weeks ago, after about 5mins the sticky feeling went away. I’m left disappointed.

Oh that’s such a shame! Did you cleanse and exfoliate before using it as that can help any moisturiser to be absorbed into the skin?

Retinols and the active form of vitamin a or retinoic acid are very different tretinoin aka retinoic acid is the active form of vitamin a and are made unstable in the sun any other form retinol or retinol aldehyde I believe are stable in the sun adapaliene is good in the sun as well they make you more sensitive to the sun so wear sunscreen as you should all the time anyway lol but yes
