You have no idea how you saved my life man. Power went out in my apartment and first thing I saw when I turned on the PC was a sort of 'corrupted file' icon on the piece I was working. Thanks to your video I was able to save it. Thanks!!

Thank you, you are a lifesaver. In my case CSP didn’t crash, my document just disappeared off the face of the earth somehow and I couldn’t find it no matter where I looked. Luckily CSP had a backup of it so I was able to recover the file thanks to your tutorial. Thank you so much.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! in my case it was because I accidently overwrite a document in the cloud, I work alternating my pc and my laptop so I always used a pendrive, I was trying the cloud for the firstime and well, and the rest is history

I've saved my file so many times- yet in the document backup, there's only 2 saves of this. Is there some way i can find the numerous times I've saved the file?

does this also work to recover custom color palette and custom brushes? my PC just randomly crash and i lost my color palette :( this is the second time it happens is really frustrating, im scare in keep creating color palettes or just using clip studio in general if this keeps happening :( do you have any advice in how to save or recover the color palette

hey, i basically lost like all of my files for a project because i was zoned out and i accidentally put it in the recyle bin instead of something else i did this and managed to save at least something, so thank you it made it a little bit better edit: i got most of the important animations back SO THANK YOU. what do you do when you dont have they celsys folders? they're literally not in my documents or anywhere

Hi there. If you're still having trouble, watch this one. I go over an alternative way to find your back up folder. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fNqJmdKC1pfOYHU.html. Basically this is what you'd need to do: Open clip studio paint> click File> open clip studio. Once open click the settings icon in the top left hand corner of the window. Then click maintenance menu , scroll down the drop down menu and click "open folder with clip studio backup data".

Try going to: My documents - CELSYS - Clip studio PAINT DATA - Document BackUp or Initial Backup. Hopefully that helps and you get your file back.

I restarted my computer with my project open expecting it to still be there when I re-open Clip Studio Paint, but it wasn't :C I tried opening the file you said, but there all empty.. Is it because I restarted? Are they gone forever? PLEASE HELP

I'm sorry to hear this happened to you. The only other thing to do is to double check there isn't another folder location. To do that, Open clip studio paint> click File> open clip studio. Once open click the settings icon in the top left hand corner of the window. Then click maintenance menu , scroll down the drop down menu and click "open folder with clip studio backup data". If that doesn't help and there are no files that could mean you do not have recovery turned on. However, I really hope this ends up working for you.

Hi! Another way to do it is open clip studio paint > click file> Open clip studio>click the settings button that looks like a gear wheel in the top right hand corner>click maintenance menu >click open folder with clip studio backup. @@purekirb101 Did you do the above method of going through the maintenance menu in clip studio? I dont know if its because of changes through clip studio updates, but the above method is a way to find the back up folder if its not in documents. If it's not present you may not have back up set up.

It goes over the maintenance menu method and shows how to set up back up. But to answer your question yes, the on without the word paint. Once you have that open look top left for the settings button that looks like a gear and then Maintenace menu and then clip "click open folder with clip studio backup." Sorry for causing confusion by posting the wrong link to you. I really hope this helps.

Power went out in my house when I was about to save my file, I searched this file and it has nothing saved. I'm so indescribably sad, I drew my first thing and came out really well, now I think I might have lost it for good.

I'm sorry to hear that! I know this won't help the current problem, but make sure that auto recovery is turned on. You can do that by going to FILE>PREFERENCES, then you'll get a pop up. On the left hand side you'll see a list of things you can change/update. Click File. Then you'll see a box at the top that says "Auto-Recovery". Make sure the box underneath it is "checked" and set how frequently you want it to save. The stock standard in the program is usually set at 15. Hopefully that helps in the future!

Its different for ipad/iphone users. It doesn't automatically back up from the start. You have to use clip studio's cloud function to sync work that you'd want to back up. More info here in this link tips.clip-studio.com/en-us/articles/886

Hi Drew, I'm really sorry that this didn't help and that you lost your work. Trust me when I say that I've been there. Out of curiosity, by "didn't work" did you mean that you couldn't find the folders or that the folders were empty?
