@@einsteinorwell ? you buy a perpetual license for a version you have. how are they supposed to pay developers and add features? If you own it already you can upgrade your perpetual license at a heavy discount or buy a yearly upgrade for what's less then 2.00 a month as a 1 time purchase. If you don't like the features wait til a version comes out that you do like and upgrade your perpetual license then. that's not very predatory.

As someone who's done some comic lettering, the Clip Studio Comic font is really good. It seems on the same level as the fonts you can get from Blambot and Comicraft, and those can go from $40 - $200. It's also nice and neutral enough to work with most art styles. And it doesn't have any weird quirks (LIKE ANIME ACE DOES)

The new features looks great but the one important thing that i need them to fix is the gpu problem with csp Brushes has a major problem of lagging and slowing down when you increase the brush size

That may just be your computer, or you're always working on 4000+ pixel canvases and brushes that use bigger images for brush tips or use a multiply effect, like the watercolor brushes. I have a not ideal laptop and draw with big canvases and brushes with little to no lag, the only things that do are a custom blur brush that repeats the brush tip more than the default ones.

thats just it. i got a very powefull pc that should handel this issue. but even incresing brush gap or messing with any canvas size ,the big brush strokes still lags @@alis.in.wonderland

I use paint tool sai my whole life. It's hard to get a lagging brush in there cause it's a small software. Unlike CSP, your computer spec is important for it to run smoothly @@fowenart

A fast update always a welcome. I am a huge csp fan but some of the geometric drawing tools are outdated. New gen softwares handle drawings lines, circles, arcs faster and easier. I would like to see those tools ❤

though unfortunately for those who aren't exactly a huge fan of the pay to update model and are still in version one, you have to now pay for version two to then get to pay AGAIN for version 3. you can't go from 1 to 3

Since it’s currently on sale it’s actually cheaper to buy the perpetual license for V3 than to upgrade it normally without the sale discount. Still dumb there’s no way to upgrade from V1 to V3

You get as much material as a film studio in props & sets. All the studios in America have property & set locations on the studio's premises: Warner Bros, 20th Century Fox, Paramount, Universal. Same thing with Golden Harvest, Shaw brothers, and Toho. That's what I saw on TV and theaters since about 1978 in this country.

There was one big feature that was added you didn’t cover which is being able to use shape keys that were directly on meshes for 3D models. It can be used for facial expressions on 3D characters or like CSP showed opening a curtain. I’m having an issue with getting it to show up for the 3D character though does anyone know how to get it to work or if it’s just a glitch? It was the only reason I even bought 3.0.

If you dont have the program from a previous version (I come from Adobe), is it worth purchasing the perpetual 3.0 EX version? I see its 60% off atm. Really interested in a 1 time purchase thing (and maybe some updates at a later date) rather than renting the soft for a month... The program seems good for a variety of tasks, so Im thankful for some replies.

I mean I'd say it's worth it. I've been using CSP for a few years and getting all these features and in such a stable program for like 230 bucks (140 with the discount) is a steal IMO. I'm biased of course, I'm not a fan of the Adobe suite, and I don't like Clip's subscription model they adopted, but the one-time purchase stuff is really quality for not that much money all things considered. I will say though if you're striped for cash, Pro will get you far if you're not making big comics or long animations, and 2.0 is still really robust if you don't care too much about these features. It kept me going for years without an issue, the additions in 3 are just more helpful for my specific workflow that I decided to upgrade.

Okay, that's neat! I had no idea 3.0 would be out so quickly. But why would you use a PSD as a texture in unity? 😅 Aren't they like, insanely big compared to a JPEG or even a PNG? Like, idk, it just seems inefficient to me.

IDK about Blender, but I know that PSD was preferred to use for Maya in one of my 3D modeling classes. Any change you made to the PSD file would automatically update and that way you don't have to save as many versions of a file.

You won't have to install anything new, if you buy the license (pretty sure you only get 1.0 with tablet deals if not csp debut) you can just activate your program and nothing will change. Your brushes and settings will all stay.

You forgot Shape Keys feature, but maybe is only needed if someone is using 3D in deep. Anyway I've seen quite a few toxic or off-topic comments about this new version. And I think some people don't see the purpose of this program or where it really wants to go. Plus, the whole text-in-circle thing isn't a big necessity since Clipstudio is focused on illustration, comics, and animation. People applauding that it's been implemented after so long, when it's not really a program focused on text like layout, brochures, etc... It's true that it might have some shortcomings and that there are people screaming for certain functionalities, but I see this software going beyond what other drawing programs typically do. For now, I have no complaints, although it's true that certain tools could be improved. But I'm not getting so aggressive as to attack a company and just trash the whole version because some people say so.
