I loved this tutorial!! Others that I've watched, when I copy them, it waaaaaaaay over oils the blades. I've also tried things like Andis Blade Care dip jar and Davis Blade Magic cleaner. Again, too heavy and my blades are still over oiled even after resting on a towel overnight and wiping them like crazy. This is pretty similar to how I'm cleaning my blades now and I'm finding great success. Thank you!

Agreed, and thanks for the feedback, April! 😍 I also tried the dips when I first started and found the same thing. By keeping them regularly maintained with the basics, I rarely have to send my blades to my sharpener (he thinks I'm cheating on him, lol!). Thank you for sharing your experience! 🙏🐾

I was wondering if you could possibly do a video in regards to different type of blades .. like what they do and what they are for. Example: I noticed you have a blade there called BUTTERCUT, I noticed some are SKIP TOOTH and others I think that would really help us beginners to understand all these different types of blades. 😊😊

Yay, April, now I have tears in my eyes, lol! 😂 So happy you enjoyed the video! And please, never a bother, I actually love your questions because they give me focus and remind me of the questions I had when I was starting. So, thank you! Even though I'll redo a video focused on the different blade types, I had a pretty long lecture I put out a few years ago that may help: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nq95epte2523eI0.html. But to answer your question directly, the BUTTERCUT label is just the manufacturer name (Geib Buttercut). The main difference between blade types is Skip Tooth and Finishing. The Skip Tooth is rarely used anymore because it is considered more dangerous (every other tooth on the front plate is skipped, thus allowing a much higher chance of catching skin). Old time groomers may use these to cut through very matted coat, usually on the body only. The blades we now use are the Finishing blades, that are designated by an "F" after the number. Once you hit #10, they are all shaving blades, no skip-tooth available. The scary thing is that unless you buy the "F" blade, and just buy a #5 or #7, you may end up with a Skip Tooth. And then there are other little details between blades, such as Wide blades, etc. What a great subject to make a focused video about, especially since the one I have out there is way too long, lol!
