@Christoph Bischofs, the irony of that is that he created Bean as a means to do comedy while incorporating his stammer. While Rowan is very intelligent (and yes, articulate) you may realise, the few times that Bean does speak, he takes time to form the words. This isn't entirely put on as an act. Rowan has said in past interviews that acting was something he wanted to use to overcome it. He also said that he doesn't stammer half as much in front of a live audience, because you are having to "read" the room and the live reactions of people. With cinema and television, you don't get the instant reaction.

I just watched the earlier version, and this one is just as good and the updates make it even funnier. Rowan Atkinson is so brilliant at those officious people. The school roll call is hilarious, and the schoolmaster informing the parents of the death of their son, is darkly brilliant, and that’s not to mention all the wonderful TV and movie shows he’s been in. One of the best.

Anyone who understands comedy a little bit will know that timing is the true king here. Many funny people can write great jokes like these, but very less are able to pull off such an amazing act. Notice how Rowan is very calm, clear and takes pauses in what he says, just like having a conversation with the audience, rather than seeming like he's performing. He doesn't rush into a joke, providing ample amount of time for the audience to laugh, and then says a joke just at the right time, when the audience most expects it. He also doesn't waste time in explaining something before the joke. His set-ups before the jokes are perfect, not too short and not too long. Yes, the jokes are funny, but it has much more to it. This is what is called a perfect stand up act, done by the master himself.

I like how he stayed true to the original that he did on the album Live in Belfast. On his live comedy special he did in the 1990s he edited this routine down quite a bit so it's nice to see the routine in it's entirety with the new bits added to it (Hedge Fun Managers, The French and the mention of Trump).

He is. I remember The Opening of London Olympic. He just raised his eyebrows and the whole stadium went crazy. Rowan Atkinson, and The Queen 'jump' from helicopter with James Bond, it's my best memories from London Olympic.
