I am a drummer, bandleader, and radio broadcaster. My band and I had the privilege and joy of accompanying Clive Baldwin two times for The International Al Jolson Society. Also, Clive and his wife Lenora were on my radio show twice. The second time was to talk about this very show about which they are talking here, "Jolson" at the Papermill Playhouse. This Joe Franklin program would have been around October 1978. I can tell you that Clive is the most BRILLIANT performer. He is also a temperment free gentleman. I have worked with many big names, and Clive was so very easy and adaptable and resilient with everything. He is a true "oil painting" of talent.

Despite Clive's comments at the end of the recording, I thought Clive sounded better than ever. A modern day Barry Grey show!

Clive actually has better control of his voice than jolson.......no offence.......
