Clive once gave a personal 2-hour show for me and my ex Brazilian gf in his home in Miami Beach. This was in 2003. He was absolutely great. Clive and his lovely wife Lenore took us out to dinner. (It was practice for a new show he was putting on.)

I am a fanatical fan of Jolson and as such I was always cynical and skeptical of imitators, so I was not expecting much when I saw this video of CLIVE for the first time...but I was shocked to hear an absolute exact copy of the Jolson voice in all of its dimensions...in fact I have to say that in some some ways he is actually better, more resonant, bigger range and more powerful than the original....WOW Got to give this guy CLIVE credit...he is not JUST " imitating " Jolson...he actually has the exact same voice and accent. Of course he is singing Jolson songs and therefore giving it the Jolson approach but I would love to hear him sing other songs in his own style because he has his own unique and exceptional voice.

My band and I played for Clivey a few times. He is spectacular. He is also temperment-free and a warm fellow... just a real cool guy. And as if his tremendous voice were not enough to absolutely dazzle you, nobody can whistle like Jolson the way that Clive can!!!

It's in the tender, golden low notes that nobody can touch Al Jolson. I can do tbe loud, brash ones like him myself. But. Clive is absolutely wonderful.

I saw this guy in Glasgow I think in 2002, he was absolutely incredible, and it was as if Jolson was reincarnated that very same night.

I was lucky to see Clive in the UK he sounds exactly like al but I thought his singing was better than las by the way he sang those long notes even talks naturally like al to

This guy was great. I don't like the note at the end. Besides, he proved that he can do Jolson well.

Some notes only Jolson could handle. Clive is good, real good, and i do love him, but the unexpectedly tender, nostalgic, pure, low registers only ever came from the golden pipes of Al Jolson, the master.

I knew Clive both as an audience member and as a friend for over twenty years and just as Perry Como is not imitating Bing Crosby believe me, Clive Baldwin is NOT imitating Al Jolson!
