Probably something to do with being the paragon of love and Iris is his lightning rod. She has been through her own share of trauma as well though: mother’s death, thinking Savitar will kill her, witnessing her daughter’s death, thinking Barry will was going to die in crisis, mirrorverse prison, time sickness/prison, seeing her original dead fiancé.

It's why out of all the dc superheroes the flash is my favorite he is able to love, encourage others and smile while still being human and still have that kind loving heart no matter what he is being put through. The worst part is whenever he takes pain from an enemy whether it be to protect someone or take them down it’s never a big deal with any of his team because it heals in a few hours/days, even thought it heals quick he still had the same pain anyone else would’ve felt.
