This recording was done in London Pt Purushottam walawalkar could not resist himself and was constantly giving his Wah-wah kya baat hai ect. At one stage the recording engineer late shri kiritbhai was little uncomfortable but as Mrs Amonkar was telling him to appreciate if he feels so and she was also getting into the right mood and ultimately the recording was finally kept as it is without any editing to give a natural feeling. Vidhya Bhagwat , Nandini Panshikar and Raghunandan Panshikar has given vocal support and tanpura as well. Pt Balkrishan Iyer

I had the fortune to listen to a similar mehfil live in 2001. It is 23 years now, but I still remember the bliss I felt that day. It was a Diwali morning, and Kishori tai just took us into a different world altogether. Since then I attended at least 10 different live mehfils of tai, and that is something I will always cherish. What a great artist!

Such natural voice modulations came so easily to this diva of the Indian classical music ! Transcendental singing !

If I was sitting in front of her listening to this, I would have tears in my eyes and a choked throat, don’t think I could utter anything, maybe a gentle croak. The picture of her used here, says it all. She may be physically present, but her spirit is elsewhere.

I remember in a mornining concert at Dadar Matunga cultural cetre some years a lady sitting right in front of Tai was saying Wah constantly which irritated Kishoritai so much that Tai told her shut up & she did shut then.

Thanks, this is one of the best I heard. But so sorry for Pt Walawalkar, a sound recordist checks his daad. It’s unheard of. He was so senior that even the artiste may not raise a finger. He accompanied Pt Bhimsen Joshi v frequently, and Ptji exchanged glances at spl places only with him, not tabalchi or audience. His daad was a guide to the audience, Kishoritai’s glides between microtones in the present case.

This is not even Miyan Ki Todi! Totally mislabeled here. It is Gujri Todi. I’m surprised that the mislabeling has survived for more than 4 years. Nevertheless, an absolutely divine Gujri Todi by the maestro Kishori tai!

23:17 pancham is evident here. Atleast the Vilambit is in Miyan Ki Todi, can't say about drut portion.

This is not Miya ki Todi, it is Gurjari Todi.
