Speedpaint for a fullbody illustration of a dragon character called Theodore! Had a ton of fun with this piece, the whole process was super relaxing from start to finish. Hope you guy enjoy the video! I made it a little slower than usual, particularly towards the end when I'm doing all the colour fixing stuff.

Tools Used
I used a free digital art program called Medibang Paint Pro to do most of the drawing, and then exported the file to Photoshop CC to make the final colour adjustments. If you're ever on the look out for a really awesome and easy to use digital art program I really highly recommend Medibang! It features a ton of awesome brushes and supports a lot of the basic features that digital artists need u I'll have a link down below to their website!

FAQ
How long did this take?
It varies! If it's a five minute long video, then between 3 to 4 hours. If its between 7-10 minutes, it was probably a bigger piece which can take anywhere between 10-15 hours.
Where did you get that fur textured brush? tinyurl.com/yd...
Where did you get the flat brush?
That one's from the Medibang cloud (click the little cloud shaped button with the arrow at the bottom of box with the list of brushes). There you will find all the additional brushes made by Medibang - plenty of gems to download and test out.
Where did you get all these brushes and textures from?
They're from a mix of stuff! Some of them are made by other artists and you can easily find them just by typing in 'medibang brushes' or 'firealpaca brushes' into Google. Some are brushes that I made myself. Some are actually Photoshop brushes! You can import most Photoshop brushes into Medibang by downloading an ABR Viewer. Since most Photoshop brushes are in the .abr format, you can use the program to view all of them and convert them into .png files. Once you've done that just click and drag the brush image into the Medibang brush list and you'll have a new brush to play with!
You can find most of the brushes I have just by doing a Google search. Please give this a try before asking me for specific brushes! I really don't have the time to answer all the questions I get :)

clockbirds honestly I don't know because I am still very new to doing digital art but it would probably be Sumer or spring because of a the nice greens and yellows from the leaves. I also want to say that you are such a inspiration to me, do you have any tips because I just started using medibang. ily art soooo much 💗💗

For me it’s either winter or late autumn. I like the swirling inspiration of autumn, but also the simplicity of freshly fallen snow.

@Tohoto
@Tohoto 6 жыл бұрын
oh ok! ty! .... i suck at anatomy and choosing colours lol
@CosmiccCreations
@CosmiccCreations 6 жыл бұрын
Hey, don't worry about it! Everyone starts somewhere. Even Clockbirds. For anatomy I personally use real life stock photos, like so: img00.deviantart.net/303e/i/2014/017/a/3/wolf_stock_2__2014__by_jaded_night_stock-d72lfm8.jpg I personally find stock photos really helpful because they help me understand how the creature's anatomy, joints, movements, and form. I seriously recommend using them to practice drawing, even if you're aiming for a cartoony/cutesy style it's important you learn the rules before breaking them. As for colors, that's very fickle. We have so many choices in there that ya, it can be difficult to see what goes best. But, with enough practice and experimentation, you'll be able to pick in choose without thinking too much. Some standard basic colors that work well together: reds + oranges, oranges + yellows, these are great for afternoon/dawn sceneries, or creating intense moods in your pieces. These are also called "warm colors" because they give off a warm feeling, like you were laying in the sun. Cool colors, work opposite, they present things dark, calm, mysterious, cold. But also mystical and wonderous. Blues + purples greens + blues. The first cool pair are great for night time or dark/dim sceneries. Just know, never shade with black or white (unless you're aiming for a greyscale drawing). That can make your drawings come dull, lifeless. And not in a very good way, especially if you wanna make your art shine, pop and vibrant. But also try not make your colors too vibrant/saturated. Otherwise it's unpleasing to the eye, mix up your balance and saturation, don't be afraid to feel a little experimental. If you still have trouble, you can google search premade custom color palettes and take inspiration from them.
