it is from the dark ages lol but the house is already on top of it the cost to replace wouldn't be worth it you would have to demolish the structure. Those are old school house traps that form a U shape that sits full of water to prevent rats from crawling up the street main into the house drains.

Cast steel drive-in cap with a lead seal. Keeps the sewer gas out of the house and seals well. Perfectly good tech.

Great fix, have you ever had a cap so tight that the U trap casing cracked or broke as it was so far corroded beyond repair ? Some of those cast iron pipes must be getting up close to 100 years old.

Those are lead seal caps so tap to fit or screw, the homeowner are having the floors replaced and cleaning done as well.

Hi I have a couple questions about your plumbing. Do you use any types of wipes or use papertowels? No Are all sanitary products disposed of correctly? Oh yes.
