Well he did also add “if you buy from Amazon or a store that’s not just a dedicated knife shop.” I’m like 160-170 in and I’ve never had a fake but that’s only because I buy all my knives from legit sites. Probably 65% of them have been through just 3 sites: WMK, Kizer & Mojave Outdoor. I’m also counting Mojave Outdoors store on Amazon which is the only Amazon buying I do for knives.

Screw paying (near) full price for a knock off, but buying knockoffs directly are like 20 bucks. Sure the steel isn't as good but just buy five and swap them out when they're dull they'll sharpen faster anyway Lots of clones seem to be using actual carbon fiber and titanium too, wild.

I called spyderco they couldn’t do anything, honestly I recommend just returning it asap so you can get your money back in 2 weeks

@CheaperThanYouThink I'm not really asking them to do anything because thank god I can still return it and get my money back The knife fels pretty good for a fake But it's not fair to pay full price for a counterfeit I just want to hear it from them if it's sopose to run on washers and not bearings

This was about a year ago for me when I bought this and I’ll admit money was very tight. I was paying for school, living, groceries, gas, all the stuff that put a recent adult (me) in a tight spot when buying knives. Funny enough that’s why my channel name is cheaper than you think, when I started the channel had barely any money for knives haha. I would never do this now that I’m a little more financially secure but when Amazon dropped this guy bellow $200 I chanced it and unfortunately lost the chance haha

I bought my first couple spyderco's from Amazon when I started knife collecting because I didn't know there were websites that sell knives. I also didn't know knife scams were a thing. That's probably why the majority of people would buy from Amazon.

Detent wasn’t necessarily the problem with this one, it was just a clone which ofc happens from time to time, it’s better to shop through strictly knife shops

@cheaperthanyouthink2646 hell yeah....I buy a lot off of Amazon and it's usually bout 50/50 on having to send it back. Glad to hear you got it straight though. If they put that knife on Wish for bout $40 I'd pick one up

😂, I am a man of influence, when I get told by store clerk at my local knife shop that it’s “shay-man” then that was unfortunately all I knew haha. In my most recent review I made the change however, after all the comments haha

I thought u were doing it intentionally like u just didn’t believe it was supposed to be pronounced “Shah-man.” I don’t know how old you are so you might not find this funny or even know who I’m talking about. Back when I was like 15 there was a rapper Chamillionaire that just came out. His first big song was “Ridin’ Dirty.” The song was insanely popular but no one had heard of the guy before that song. To everyone I knew I kept pronouncing his name Cha-millionaire, well because that’s how it’s spelled. These girls I was hanging out with were introduced to his music by me so they were pronouncing his name the same way. Until one day I met up with them and told me they went to the record store and asked for the Cha-millionaire CD 💿 and all the workers gave each other a look, laughed at them and said “yeah the KUH-millionaire CD is right over here.” Little oopsie on my part. I got a good laugh out of it too and wish I’d seen the whole interaction in the store 😂

@@cheaperthanyouthink2646 Yea, but they literally committed a crime. Amazon needs to refund you the money. You should also report the seller as fraud. If the seller and amazon will not refund you, go to your bank and have them charge back due to fraud.
