The ability to create a clone used to be science fiction. Dr. Ian Wilmut's group changed that in 1997 with the creation of Dolly the sheep. Since then the debate on applying the technique to clone human beings has been ongoing.
Based on all the discussion, it may sound like cloning, human or otherwise, is an easy process. Find out what is actually involved in the cloning process by viewing our short animation.

In the case of Dolly, I don't get why they fused the egg cell with the entire udder cell which contained the nucleus... Doesn't that seem like it could complicate things? Why not just take the nucleus out of the udder cell, and inject it into the egg cell, like they did with Cumulina? I don't know much about this, but to me, that seems like the best way to go. It can't be any more difficult to do than electrically shocking the two cells together...

So I have a theory I would like to test I wanna clone myself rase myself because when you clone it would be a child but not have the same tramatic experiances such as bruses from accidents ect and see what would happen would my soul split ? Would my younger self see the world threw my eyes at points and enevitably hate me for creating him? Or would nothing happen and I or him would be a seperate soul all togeather never knowing unless I told him? But then agin if you look at yourself as a clone because of your parents what if you have part of each parents soul inside of you and what makes you is what they are hence if your parents like certain things or what your fav food is or what you dislike in people

It ends up creating a mule and becoming miscarried as both genetic pieces are incompatible. And do remember you can ONLY cross breed between organisms in the same species category as you. E.g. A mouse and a gerbil can reproduce together.

What would be the ethics of human cloning for a single parent? It effects the gene pool because it seperates one type of person from that pool, but it gives a person the potential to have their own children without the complications of relationships
@laragreenleaf7294
@laragreenleaf7294 Жыл бұрын
they wouldn't just have children, they would quite literally have clones of themselves. Identical copies. Imagine raising yourself - that's weird to say the least. Would raise a lot of questions about whether it's ethical. Also who would you allow to do this procedure? Would everyone potentially be allowed to clone themselves? How about people with genetical disorders that just want to have children without thinking of the consequences? We're not even over the abortion debate, so I don't think cloning oneself is on the table. Wanting to have children should not exceed the rational perspective of things, it should not be an ultimate desire with no regards to how it's achieved.

Depends on where you are going with it. Certain chemicals and radiation exposure can have certain effects on metabolism and such. An organism can be artificially optimized to be completely closed off from its environment and only utilize itself or other things within such as fat as a temporary food source until starved. Etc...

@anythingandeverything264

Actually you dont even need three you could build an artificial womb, and then you would only need an egg cell and one cell from the same species of any sex. So in theory you only need one female organism to make a clone
