Күн бұрын

In this episode we head out to pull our recreational stone crab traps out for season. It's the end of April and May 1st is the last day of season so we need to get them out. We are going to give away a Stanz Fishing Performance shirt to the first person who guesses the total amount of stone crab claws we harvested this season as well! If no one guesses the exact number we will give it to the person who was closest after a week! Back at the house Charlie makes some delicious Stone Crab Cakes! Enjoy!

I love the kids eating and interacting with the adults and their parents. They see what it takes to catch their dinner and then get to enjoy the fruits of their labor.These children are being raised properly. I enjoy watching others growing up the way I did in this type of environment on the water.

You guys are doing a fantastic job raising the girls. They are going to be like mommy when they grow up. Probably have their own traps to get crabs. Also daddy’s blood line is consistent too. It runs in the family. You guys have no idea how much I enjoy your videos and to see the girls grow up so fast. Time really flies. I am going to missed does stone crabs for the next few moths. I love them as much as Sara. We love you guys . Sincerely: Pipo

Some advice for that crab cake preparation...if you don't wanna mush up your crab meat and you wanna keep the chunks bigger you can mix everything together EXCEPT the crab and cracker crumbs FIRST then add the PRE-Mixed ingredients to the crabmeat and crackers and gently fold it all together. This will keep so much more of your meat intact and together because this way of preparing it requires so much less mixing in order to make sure all those ingredients are evenly mixed. Hope it helps 😊

Love your videos. I don’t comment often on videos but did want to point out that in Maryland, they don’t use Old Bay for Crabs. JO is what is mostly used, and all I use along with Dukes mayo if I’m making crab cakes. Old bay is only good on grilled wings. JO #1 for crab cakes and JO #2 for steamed crabs.

Interesting recipe at the end. I'm a 50-year-old man that grew up and continues to live on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Your friend's recipe for crab cakes was not very traditional. I figure if you put enough Old Bay on shoe leather though, it'd taste good... I'm pretty sure though that not a single person on Tilghman Island knew what Truffle oil was 30 years ago and most cooks use French's mustard in the area along with Worcestershire Sauce along with mayo and lemon juice as a wet sauce, similar to what's used on Crab Imperial. I was surprised as well that he didn't fold the meat into the sauce, but instead mixed it in there. Here, we want the lumps of meat to stay as large as you can. I know that it's a matter of small details I guess for some, but traditions in our area are slowly dying away, along with the culture. I figure it merits at least speakin' up some to defend that. I sure what you ate though was good all the same, so I'm glad you had a good harvest and a decent meal from it after. All the best.

@StanzFam
@StanzFam 18 күн бұрын
She definitely got her workout in. If she wanted or needed help she would have asked. Someone drives the boat, someone pulls the traps. Some women find it insulting when you don’t think they can do a job that requires a little physical labor. I expect my daughters to hold their own and be able to do all sorts of jobs on the boat as they get older. Whether that’s icing the boat down, loading coolers, carrying tackle, pulling an anchor, pulling traps, washing the boat etc.
