The 4.7 with a manual is really cool.

Hey there. I have the same truck, but mine is an automatic. 2 issues I've run into that you may want to address... 1. I know money is tight right now, but if your truck has the original alternator, go ahead and replace it and save yourself a headache. 2. The 3rd brake light is notorious for water leaking into the cab. Seal the 3rd brake light with silicone weather-stripping. It provides a better seal and is less expensive than the replacement seal. There are a few videos that cover this very thing. Other than that, I'm like you when it comes to simple trucks. Honestly, I wish mine was like yours with a manual transmission and crank windows. Take care and I want to wish you all the best!

already sealed the third brake light w silicone, amazingly al mm ost all the trucks have it in the same location which will inherently leak at some point in time. the manual, for me, is a necessity, I can't drive an automatic, only drawback on the windows is it's arduous having to lean and reach the passengers side window

@@AnimalStatusSports Right on! I'm definitely into manual transmissions as well. I inherited the truck after my Father passed away 10 years ago. It's crazy because this is the first automatic I ever remember him buying. Anyways, I really need to clean mine up, and replace the faded headlights. My plan is to keep it in the family and pass it on to my son after he graduates from college in a couple of years. Btw, new sub here. 😎👍

@@ChrisfromGeorgia I inherited my dad's car around that time frame also, and also an automatic. it was a Jetta v6 and I feel in love with the weight, or lack thereof

Pressed metal valve seats went south after 50k miles, covered by lifetime warranty. New heads...

If you want clearance for under 6ft parking garage you can lower the truck with a 5/7 drop or even a 2/4 drop depending on the lesser clearance garages are in your area. Any lowering kit just makes the truck look that much better in my honest opinion. I like how you have a bed cover, about how many mpgs did you pick up from having it? Just curious

I agree a lower truck looks better but it's so nice not having to jack it up to get underneath. I haven't measured the mpg difference with the bed cover and without

@@AnimalStatusSports I see what you're saying sometimes its clearance over other things. I was just wondering cause I'm looking at a 08 with manual everything and its got cab lights, 5/7 drop 20s and manual tow mirrors. I'm thinking about a retractable cover for my tools and just overall for the bed to stay dry. I saw on the dodge ram forum that this guy got a cover like yours and he said its 2-3 mpg savings but he also had the 17s. Just trying to see what exactly can benefit the truck really. Great video I enjoyed it

How do I find and change the transmission fluid filter on this truck? There's no videos anywhere on it. Please help!
