I CRIED during this scene. Reminder that in AC/OG Cloud doesn't have any pictures of Aerith; he would take pictures of flower fields because it's what reminded him of HER and he lived at her church. Now not only does he have enough pics but he has a SELFIE with her! I love them so much! ❤😭

That's alotta romanticised headcanons 🤣 he was living at the church for 2 weeks, and it was never confirmed he took photos of flowerfields. This sidequest is also optional so totally missable.

@jinnimoo dude you literally see photos of flower fields in his desk at the end of AC and even a small bouquet of yellow flowers, which character is always associated with flowers? Hmm 🤔 even so he left on his own to live at the church when he was at his lowest and with rebirth confirming the church is Cloud and Aerith's spot it gives it a whole new meaning don't you think? Lmao missable yet this video is about the quest so that's why im talking about this topic you want to miss it go ahead but for me this quest gives a whole new meaning to the franchise since this is a new story (technically a sequel) they're adding

@eclipsemoonlightship Yes we see landscape photos at the end of AC, along with family photos on a desk. However we are never given details about these. And incase you didn't know, 'our spot' was a localisation thing, they never called it that in Japanese.

yeah it's like a mini-game. You have to successfully take the 1st photo for the 2nd pose to appear. If you failed then she will reset to 1st pose.

Agreed. Aerith brings out sides of Cloud that no one else gets to see. She's exactly the type of woman Clouds mom described he needed especially when he's being a "silly goose".

We don't know what cloud was going to say, but it was 100% triggered by her 'prayer' pose. Cloud already had a vision of her death back in remake, so when Aerith did her 'death pose' it made him uncomfortable and he wanted to say something. This is also alluded to in the descriptions for the photos.

Honestly I don't hate her but I did find her somewhat irritating, with the way she's constantly embarrassing Cloud about romantic stuff and pushing him to go on dates with her. Didn't really come across as particularly kind and sweet to me.

He'd ask her not to pray because he had visions about what would happen during her praying at the altar. He might not have made sense of the visions but seeing Aerith praying would give him discomfort...

Clerith is canon forever: Aerith plays Rosa in 4 of the 6 dates & is Rosa in the credits & makes the most sense narratively & Aerith’s date has been default & canon since 1997

@CLOUDSTRIFF A lot of people think it's canon because if your affinity points are equal to everyone, it defaults to Aerith in both the OG and the remake. It also seems to make the most sense as well.

The point of the game maker and writer is to leave emotional marks in the players. They will make you ship then go destroy it. Aerith is doomed to die. They need to make that moment glorious, devastating and long remembered. They actually succeeded at it. This is a common pattern in FF games...

Well, even though Cloti went all the way in one scene, its still only one scene, that too optional (and has no reference or consequence afterwards, which just doesn't make sense). I believe its fanservice because the rest of the game (especially the last two chapters) pushes HARD with Clerith, canonically in non-optional scenes (again, pursuing the Tifa romance route and this inevitably happening later doesn't make sense). SE needed the Cloti fans to still have hope for their ship, and to buy the next game, so they pulled up with the big guns for the Golden Saucer date💀

@@francisco24slb1Aerith comming back in part 3 seems almost guaranteed to me considering she didn't get all her abilities, her Ultimate Limit Break Great Gospel or even her Ultimate weapon like she did in the original. She won't be there from the start, but she definetely will be later. Playable Vincent from the start, Cid after Rocket Town and Aerith later..

Loving Aerith is like cutting yourself on purpose. Cloud still suffers, including in AC because he can't let go. The Geostigma makes it worse, but in the end it was his broken heart that weakened him. Nothing else would...Cloud was never a weak person, despite having low self esteem. He never gave up on anything he was pursuing, inspite even his guilty complex over the loss of his hometown and childhood love, being subjected to shinra experiments and losing his best friend. None of those things stopped him in his tracks though, and had him weaken to the point of being completely controlled by Sephiroth...Only his thoughts and feelings of Aerith did that, which Jenova was having a ball with on Sephiroth's behalf. Cloud saw Aerith's death before it even happened. The boy isn't stupid, despite his mental state and hot temper. He understood afterall, the nature of the girl's uniqueness being in her legacy. That already made him look at her as someone special. Add to that his shared screen time with her and you have a boy in love. Cloud being immature is not an argument against it, because maturity has nothing to do with being in love. Some people are arguing based of the novels; - well Cloud established a great life after meteor with Tifa in their little orphanage, and was happy, so it's just about guilt with him...well, Yeah...guilt is an extremely complex emotion, especially considering (As it has been explicitly implied in the remake) Aerith knows that Cloud fell in love with her..,Why would she be telling him not to if she didn't see the future? So yeah, he feels guilty...until it almost kills him. Being happy doesn't always necessitate 'feeling' happy, some times you gotta plough through the tears and squeeze out a smile. By the way, where does it say Cloud and Tifa had a peachy life together? From what we know it was ridden with hardships. They weren't married, we don't know if they were intimate because there is no canonically verifiable info that the player's choices from OG regarding Tifa are the canon choices. So a kiss on the wheel and a boink under the Highwind, no indication. Advent Children stories don't count because in either case, we're not talking about an idiot here who didn't know what was happening to him. He was trying to move on after all, and a girl like Tifa who happens to be the closest person to him alive might be a natural choice. The ship wars are stupid, because both outcomes are valid. Nobody has the right to judge what can or can't be considered true love and under what circumstances. Different people, make different choices.
